Default Buying bad CF material

Can someone please tell me if buying bad CF and fiberglass material kits are bad? I plan on painting over the CF, so any bad weaves will be covered. I mean, will bad fiberglass & CF be more prone to cracking over time?

I saw in another thread that a VIS CF hood started to have cracks, and the car wasn't involved in an accident at all, it just happened over time...

Also, how do I tell from bad weave, and fake CF?

Real cf will have a 3d depth look to it.

Bad weave will look wavy and not uniform in pattern.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as fake CF except for vinyl overlays, which can be discovered instantly.

if you are painting it, why are you buying carbon in the first place? Just paint the oem pieces and you'll know it will fit properly

Thanks for the answers. Well, I'm buying a replica V2 spoiler from another owner, but he has not installed it on before either but is willing to let me test fit it before purchasing. Any people with experienced V2 spoiler know what I should pay attention to when test fitting besides the obvious width of the spoiler should be same or a little less than the hatch?

I think you can logically answer your own question. If the fiberglass used is flimsy, cheaply made, poorly layed, etc, then yes, you cannot reasonably expect it to fit well, or last as long as a properly made part will. Same with fitment - if you can't reasonably tell on your own if it fits well or not, you might just be better off having a body shop look at it for you and make your decision off what they tell you. There are tons, and tons of V2 spoilers posted from real to one of the various replicas - it would not take you much time to search those threads, save pictures on your computer to refer to for later.
