Default Nismo V2 Spoiler Installation

Hi, anyone have a Nismo V2 spoiler can tell me where to drill the holes at, and also if the plastic piece of the hatch has to be permanently removed in order to have the spoiler on?

Thanks.

By plastic piece, you mean the OEM spoiler? If so, then yes. It has to be removed.

No, I meant the black plastic piece inside the hatch, where it's got the golf bag sticker. Anyways, I went to the body shop and they told me it's going to be removed for drilling.

They also warned me that since this is fiberglass, there may be a chance for the spoiler to rattle at high speeds and may have a chance to fall, and told me that even putting 3M tape will not hold it. How are you replica V2's holding right now?

Thanks for clarifying. Yes, the body shop is right, that piece needs to be removed to drill.

I have a genuine V2 wing & v2 bumper from NISMO Japan, though I have not installed them yet, since I am still rocking my V1 kit till this winter passes.

For the reasons you mentioned, I avoid replicas. Nonetheless, my V1 wing is made by VIS and I can tell you the fitment is not so good. Long story short, I had to go with a replica when I had my V1 kit installed, since NISMO Japan stopped making the wings two years ago, after the Japanese traffic laws changed and started enforcing Stop-lights on all wings.

Therefore, when I had my V1 replica wing installed, the body shop had to do a lot of corrections to make it "fit" as best as they could. Although in all honesty, I have never been truly satisfied with it. Because of this, when I was able to acquire one of the remaining-five genuine-V2-wings late-last-year, I jumped on it. The fitment on that one should be like OEM. The new V2 kit will go on after the snow fall ends. I was going to have it installed this year, however I ended up doing a lot of other upgrades and had my engine replaced under warranty for the excessive oil consumption, so by now putting the new kit on just before winter starts is not the best idea.

In any case, good luck with you install.

COol, thanks.

Back to installation suggestions. Bodyshop told me bolts will be fine and that 3M tape wont help much.
