+1. the OEM grill is actually part of the bumper itself so to change it out you would have to switch bumpers.

I was thinking about that BUT where could I get the insert from the 06 bumper? I can just have a shop dremel out my old grille and install the 06 grille, it's just a matter of getting that 06 grille.

Most people just leave it open. But only looks good with FI. Don't do it if you're NA.

Nah I wasn't gonna leave it open I want to put the 06 grille in there after my 04 grille gets dremeled out but I wonder if it's possible to order the 06 grille insert seperately? I can just have the shop glue in the 06 grille.

Ahhh... The '06 is one piece too. So you'll need to get the whole '06 bumper if that's your goal... Just don't do an aftermarket grill. Totally lame FTL.

New bumper (06+) is around $300 from dealer, + $150-$200 for paint... FYI

Looking here it kinda seems like the 06 has the same grille as the 03-05 except the 06 has a 3 piece molding over it. I wonder if I bought those moldings if it would work?

EDIT: Nevermind after seeing actual pictures I see it's still different.

2 bars on the 06 vs 3 bars on the 03-05. I thought it was the same except for the molding but that 3rd bar on our grilles wouldn't allow us to add the molding that the 06 has.

The '06 + grills are a molded part of the bumper assembly. They don't come out unless you cut them out. At least that's how mine is. There is one piece that does come out - it's a small panel that hides the tow hook recepticle.

Well actually the molding pieces come out too but the bars that bold the molding is part of the bumper assembly. Here's a pic of the 06 bumper without the molding: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-07...mZ270274383062
Looks like all new 06 bumpers come without those molding pieces on there which can be ordered seperately but they won't fit the 03-05 bars.
