I am not really a big guy but how is the roll bar with the stock seats??? Is it safe to use it that way??? I understand that the seats are not really a true sport seat but would it be alright to run the bar a set of harnesses and the stock seats???

Never ran the roll bar with the stock seats, I installed my corbeaus around the same time. Personally I would not use harnesses with the stock seats, although its been done... The lack of a pass thru for the harnesses in the seatbacks and side bolsters makes me uneasy.

Really, there is no reason you should be using harnesses on the street unless you have deleted your airbags, and if you are tracking the car, then some more useful seats are in order anyway.

That looks great spoils....I've almost pulled the trigger on the kirk a couple of times but decided to hold off for a flavor of this w/o the center diagonal bar.

One more pic that sorta shows where the seats are located in relation to the bar. I can take more if anyone needs them.

This is disappointing to hear. I was hoping that the Autopower bar would be more forgiving to the passenger.

Does anyone have pics of the Autopower bar that shows the bar in relation to the seats?

Kirk you have to call them

Cool. Yeah I have that same exact roll bar but that picture is not my car. This is my car sans the rear x-brace being bolted in....

I take it stock seat belts are worthless with this in or are they still useable?

Also anyone know what the weight on the Kirk is?

Dunno the weight but the stock seats and belts (I'm pretty sure) are still useable.

I use my stock 3 point belts when I'm just driving around. Only use the harnesses on the track or for autox.

And yes the stock seats will fit just fine, although I never used them in there.

Not sure on the weight of the kirk, but it was pretty damn heavy. Its been a long time but I would guess maybe 75lbs or so?

Nice pics, how much does it weigh? I was thinking about the kirk or just a harness bar. Not want to add too much weight

Does it look like it is possible to bang your head at all off the Kirk roll bar along any of the tubes?? Also is the rear glove box accessible with the bar in???

Would like to see some pics of the bar in with out the seats if possible??

With any roll bar/roll cage that has a loop that is anywhere near your head you should have it padded just in case you were to hit your head on the bar/cage during an accident.

The rear glove box is barely accessible if at all.

Pictures without seats have been posted above.

The box will not open all the way with the roll bar installed. It will still open about 6 inches before it contacts the diagonal brace, but thats about it. So you can get small things in and out of it.

As for pics without seats installed, Kwame posted one on this very page in post #25. What else do you want?

For a ZR I think it'd be a hell of a lot easier to just fab one up yourself and probably do it cheaper than these "kits" for the hardtops....more room to work w/ per say.

So is this a bolt-in bar? that kirk site doesnt give a whole lot of info. I remember reading about it in the past and recall something having to be welded.

Oh... any vendors out there where i can one?

Nothing to be welded, completely bolt in. Your best bet is to buy it directly from Kirk Racing since they deal directly with the public.
