I want to change my parking lights to LEDs but have done a search and found some burn out due to the heat in the assembly from the HIDs. I wondering if anyone knows of any LEDs that are reasonably priced that won't burn out in the headlight assembly. I'm looking at Vleds.com which claim that they're bulbs are ok inside headlights, has anyone tried their bulbs?

Don't do that unless you plan on paying them $1000+ to do it for you. Any Do-It-Yourselfers need not ask advice from CiNcity. I tried that and was told its 'bad business' to help another enthusiast who wouldn't have given them any business anyway.

 

i would much rather pay them 1000+ to get it done right; or do it myself and mess up my brand new headlights and pay more than 1000+ for 07 headlights.

 

Why would you ask Cincity anyway? There are a couple DIY threads on how to paint the housing, add the ccfl halo, and adding a sti lens its no big deal. The R8 mod is the only thing that isnt in a diy thread.

1) it's not hard to mod your headlights, and even with just a basic understanding of electronics halos, angel eyes, or whatever are easy.

2) 06+ Headlights can be purchased for easily under $1k if you search around

3) IMO, bad business is not helping another enthusiast. If you're not losing potential business or giving advice to a competing company, there is no reason to be helpful. in fact, if I received the help I requested, I would recommend CiNcity, but instead my opinion of them is not very positive. I have an electrical background and simply wanted a resource for buying the LEDs to change the turn signals, and basically got a middle finger response, which I don't appreciate.

4) If you think a little paint and a few LEDs are worth $1000+ then there's some land I'd like to sell you, PM me if you're interested.

 

I may have mis-typed my original post I'm not looking for a custom job here I just want to change my regular parking lights to LEDs.

OP, Look in your owners manual for the bulb type, or search here. Then go to autolumination.com or v-led.com or ebay.com and pick the bulb you want.

In that case just use this guide to find the bulb code and buy a LED bulb to replace it

V-LEDs are good quality.

Don't buy from autolumination or superbrightleds.

 

i have an 06 and hate the yellowish color parking lights.

not to hijack the thread.. but emperor, do you have 03-05 headlights or 06+? the ones ive had (superbightleds.com though) for 03-05 burnt out quick... does the 06+ have the same issue?

 

I have the 03-05 HIDs too. Not sure about the 06+ burning out though.

 

LED parking lights and LED turn signals work fine. I used them in my 03 headlights for over a year and never had to replace them. I got mine from superbrightleds also.

For those that tried to turn this thread into a anti cincity you = fial read the topic before switching it up.

that $1000 price quote was mostly for mods other then what you talked about.
