Default Where can I get a WIRELESS Kit for ESCORT 9500i?

I just got a 9500i escort and I heard they have a wireless kit so I don't have to run the power to the cig adapter

What the heck? I've never heard about this. If there really is one, I'd be interested too. Oh and I love my 9500i

Ya I kinda doubt there is a wireless kit for any radar detector unless the radar detector itself is wireless. And the only wireless one I know of is the Escort Solo S2, which has some pretty bad reviews by the way. I wanted to buy that one because I didn't want to have a chord, but after reading the reviews on it I just went with the 9500i

i think i read that the wireless part interfered with the actual radar detecting part... i really want to say that but i cant really say that without finding the article

There was some review before about why they have to be wired to perform to their full potential. Is it really that big of a deal to run/hide a wire from the detector to a 12V source?

I also remember reading that. A lot of people were complaining that the wireless ones didn't work too well. I just don't remember where I read it

The Escort website doesn't list any 'wireless' kit. There are hardwire kits, maybe you're mistaken and that's what you meant?

All the accessories for the Escort 9500i can be found here

I think it was some radar doctor or something like that, I'll look for it.

Damn I'm good

It says they shut off for millisecond periods of time which reduces sensitivity. I ended up find that that website when I did a search for worlds best radar detector. Which came down to the V1 and the STi driver which I ended up buying

You may be thinking about the ability to wire the Escort into the rear view mirror electronics vs. running the power cord to an 12v adapter in the Z (hard-wiring). I did this several years ago.....you pick up a telephone-type adapter, wire the positive & negative wires into the mirror wires hid beneath the plastic piece that runs along the windshield in front of the mirror. Here's an old link describing the process (along with mounting, etc.)

https://my350z.com/forum/audio-video...0-install.html

Other than this, I've not heard of a "wireless" option for a wired Escort.

I love it. Just an example. I live in a very curvy area. Every now and then it will go off for no reason or at least I think it is for no reason. Other time I was on my way to work and it starts going off. KA8 and K6 99% of the time KA is a real cop in my area. About 4 or 5 bends in the road later, bang, theres a cop sitting on the side of the road detecting people. I had been doing the speed limit since it went off. Some people behind me were mad and one even honked at me to speed up then we went past the cop he shut up and backed off realizing i just saved him from a speeding ticket. Made my day.

Hope my story gives you an idea of the STI

Oh, I told one my friends I was going to pick up my sti when I got it, told him I was home he came over and wanted to see my new car. I had forgotten to mention it was a radar detector. HAHA
