Default 2 pics of my 350ZR in the paint shop

Got my first 350Z delivered last Monday ..... color = Silver. Sent it for a repaint (to white) the very next day. See attached pics of it last week and today. Can't wait to get it back tomorrow, with new lights and all !

My guess is that the OP couldn't find a white Z in his area.

Its a ramshackle shed beside the road (as most car related shops are over here).....but the paint quality and workmanship standards are excellent. They use Glasurit or PPG paints.

Sick. Owning a car like this in malaysia, is it dangerous? IE, does it make
you a robbery/extortion target? Can you get it insured?

Absolutely not. My car is nothing compared to the money some people here spend on cars. Plenty of even more exclusive cars on the road here. Insurance, of course..........Malaysia is a fully functioning country you know ! We can get everything you folks have and more.......except adult toys. Can't get those here........so my girlfriend stole and modified my Oral-B electric toothbrush ..... 9 out of 10 pervs recommend it.

Cars are expensive....but the service industry is cheap. For example, a visit to the mechanic, or dentist costs a tiny fraction of what you guys pay in the US. I get my car alignment+balancing done for USD10, using the same equipment that's available to you in the US (I know). I can have a good healthy meal at a nice restaurant for less than USD10. A true 5 star rated hotel by the beach in my city costs USD 60 per night....add another USD 20 and I get a traditional ******** massage in my room from a petite eager to please asian chick that's just the right mix of naive and curious.

I remember paying USD 120 for a run down Holiday Inn in California where the sandpaper grit toilet paper gave me haemorrhoids, and all I got for a welcome was a sad gift bag filled with stale peanuts at the reception from a very large, balding and curiously effeminate looking brother who looked like he was all out for some prime Malaysian *** that evening.

So paying USD60K for a used 2004 350Z in Malaysia kinda balances out in the larger scheme of things.

Wow, 60k for a used 04. Plus 300%. Jesus.

Do you have any plans for mods?

Just some superficial stylistic external upgrades, like front+rear mesh grills, Z emblems and license plates, 19"rims, headlight+tailight upgrades, LEDs upgrades, etc. I have all of these ready with me now and will be bringing them to the paint shop tomorrow to have them installed on the spot.

I'll need to drive 2 hours north to the Thailand border and pawn my butt for a weekend in order to afford any additional upgrades than that. Or maybe after the dawn raid on my neighbor's goat farm next month.

Is that a different white than the factory PPW?

I always wished Z's came in an Alpine white (bmw) or weightless white (mitsu). It'd be worth a repaint for sure.

Yes its different from PPW. This is called "Super White".....paint brand PPG (http://corporateportal.ppg.com/ppg/).......apparently one of the whitest of the automotive whites available. I did consider Alpine White (BMW) and Crystal White (Lexus), but after seeing painted samples, I went for Super White which seems to be a cleaner white.

Alpine White has got a slight yellowish/darker tinge.

Super white is probably similar to the Super White my Celica was. It has no pearl or metallic effects, but it's just a bright white.

Hides scratches very well.

Yes, that sounds right. No metallic or pearl effects. Just blinding white.

Stud - Interesting. Sometimes you need someone to clear up
misconceptions that lives in the thick. I imagine life compared
to the states is different. The haves and have-nots, etc...

Maybe not, its all a state of mind. Excellent ride, enjoy.
