question about repainting nismo
i am thinking about getting my 07 nismo repainted. its black. i would like to paint it matt black to take the shine off. does anyone know if this looks good, or how hard it is to keep clean. i would expect that the paint wouldnt get swirl marks as easy as the shiny clear coat on my car does now. any thoughts on this. ive seen a few pics on here of matt black z's and they seem to look pretty mean.
Really no need to repaint it if it's already black. Just sand the car with fine sandpaper to take off the shine, then shoot it with a satin finish clear. Trust me, satin looks much better than matte. Matte looks unfinished, like you ran out of money after primeing the car. Satin looks like you did it on purpose.

+1 on the satin, very attractive and much better than the matte.
i was thinking matte a while ago, it seemed like a great idea at the time. than i actually saw it and i thought.. it looks like a half *** paint job.

Murdering out the car is a trend that started about a year ago and I think it looks SUPER hard but the color isn't right for every car. The car should have aggressive lines to be able to have that color flow well. The Z just do not have those lines but it is different nonetheless.
Rob Dyrdek's murdered out tahoe...
To make it work, you have to tint everything else out. That flat black z is hideous but it would at least help to tint out the windows and tails...
