Default Works Bell paddle shifters

Bought these a couple of months ago, but just got around to getting them installed recently. Definitely my favorite mod ever. They look good (carbon fiber) and feel great to use

Not the greatest cinematography (!) and some of the driving technique sucks too, but you get the idea

The thing I hate is that it shifts slower when you do it manually rather than fully automanic mode. Second of all, see how it sounds stupid when you shifted from I think 3rd to 4th gear and theres no pause it just drops in rpms and sounds kind of dumb, obviously because its an auto.... my question is what about DSG's? What the exact name for the GTR's tranny is, does it sound like that when just casually driving and shifting? I would think it would sound just like it since it shifts instantly with no delay between gears. All I've seen are vid's of people getting on it in the GTR.

What exhaust do you have, seems to be pretty loud. I tend to usually rev out to 3-4kish to get a good exhaust note and not sound bad. 7AT will be funny to see on the 370z since im used to only 5 gears, cant imagine having to shift 2 more times, been thinking of going manual possibly on next car, not sure.

accordaleer: What are you talking about a delay in shifts? There shouldn't be any delay did you look at his avatar he has a valve body upgrade. It also says that he has the nismo exhaust with berk's hfc in his avatar.

+1 I didn't hear any delay in the shifts at all, every shift sounded instant and he wasn't even getting on it.. I'll be going with the transgo kit next spring/summer .

That was 4th to 5th, and you are absolutely correct - all that does is drop the RPM's, which is what it is designed to do!

Sigh.... not a delay from gear to gear. I meant a delay from when you hit the paddle to the tranny actually shifting. Same way when you go into manual mode and hit the shifter up theres a delay from hitting it to the tranny actually doing it. There seems to usually be less of a delay when your getting on it as to casualy shifting but theres still a delay. I drive the car everyday so I experience it. The tranny is quick, there just seems to be a delay in the ecu I guess. Nice sounding exhaust though, I plan to go with the berk hfc as well in next few months.

^^^ I know exactly the delay you speak of, but he doesn't seem to have this with the VB upgrade. I wonder if there's a way to make the ECU react faster for those with the VB upgrade.

Yea I'm not sure why the ecu delays the shift. Ive seen it as bad as half a second before the tranny reacts to my movement. Probably a full second if your just coasting. The new 370 interior pics look nice for auto's, shows the paddles.

That ecu delay is annoying, especially when coasting along like you said. I know for sure I'm going with the VB upgrade to remedy the delay. Other than the slight ecu delay the 5at with manual mode is perfect for me.

If I'm not mistaken I think the paddles can be adjusted, at least thats what I read in the description.
