ok i just bought Side Z Emblems with 3 lens from z327 afew weeks ago, my question is can i use side z emblems with 3 lens then the stock vision?????

 

Are you referring to the Z emblem with 3 tiny LEDs on the letter "Z"? Our Z4 LED marker can be use with any Z emblem (with or without 3 tiny LEDs). Just you'll get more LED lights then usual (LED ring + 3 tiny LEDs on the Z), but it's all good So there is no problem in your case.

 

Andy - looking pretty cool. I'm normally on the G35 forums, but my dad has a Z, so I'm checking out present ideas.

One question though. The G35 coupe can have the side markers (they normally illuminate with the parking lights) wired so they illuminate, but then blink with the blinkers. That seems like the best of both worlds for the Z's fender lights and Z4 lights. Can you wire these up in the same way, so they light constantly, then blink?

 

Sorry, so far they can only be wire to either the parking light or signal light, because they only have 2 wires (positive and ground). However, we haven't try wiring it to both the signal and parking lights at the same time. Depends on the voltage that's sent from the parking light and signal light you might get a constant light then brighter light when you flick to signal light (e.g. dim, birght, dim, bright,...etc). I would have to find out once I get them in about a week.

I don't believe they'll be ready for prime-time before Christmas, but my control box WILL allow you to do this with EVO's sidemarkers. Watch this space for more info.

As it stands, the control box is pretty close to full functionality. Programming mode is finished, demo mode is finished, run mode is finished. I just need to add in code for fading and saving/restoring the programmed color (in case the battery is ever disconnected).

one question: will the blue in the led side markers match the blue in the side emblems?? seems like the colors are different.

Yes, the Z4 blue LED marker will MATCH the Front Concept blue LED marker.

Those 2 little pictures are with BLUE Z4 LED, and WHITE Front Concept LED.....

PS. The WHITE LED will match our HID headlights better than the BLUE LED.

The front concept LED's backing is sealed to prevent water leak, I'm not sure if you can disassemble it and paint the silver housing to black. I'll look into it! Thanks!!!

Andy, let me know if you're still interested in using my control box and LEDs for the sidemarkers. I believe I have code that works well enough now for something simple like this.

I'm thinking a straightforward design...user chooses whatever color they want to normally display, blinkers turn it amber, etc.
