So I finally bit down and tackled this project. I got a late start today and I'm working by myself so things are moving slow but good. I'm done w/ one headlight and will be moving onto the next one here after I post this.

I have '04 Enthusiast headlights and wish I had the money for '06+ but that'll have to wait.

Also I'm ordering 6K HID's (I have HID's already so just need the bulbs), stealth turn signal bulbs, and some kind of bulb/LED to match the 6K lows for the parking lights.

Overall the how-to's posted on this site do a good job of laying out the procedure.

I'm using VHT high temp flat black btw. Wish I coulda blacked out around the projector but didn't wanna sacrifice any more light especially when I'm already losing my high beams. While I agree w/ most, the chrome around the projector looks better painted, I just couldn't bring myself to do it....at least not yet.

Haha, I've seen this way (the way I'm doing it) done quite a bit and guys said they still retain most of their light. It's when you paint the reflectors on the sides of the projector that you really notice the difference.....according to those who've done it. I sure hope they're right.

Will do. I should finish up around noon or so tomorrow and re-install them w/ the factory 4300K bulbs. I've got some more pics coming but I'll post them tomorrow when I'm done.

I've done this aswell, the lighting is affected by the black out. Not a big difference but does take a little "getting used to". Hope this helps.

Just finished up. Pretty happy w/ the way it turned out but can't wait to get the new bulbs in...whenever that may be. Anyways...here are the pics. I'll get better ones when it's light out.

I didn't bother turning the headlights on as my cam is not good enough to catch how it truly looks. W/ that said what you're seeing are pics w/ flash and w/out.

Looks GREAT man! I was never a fan of the chrome housing so this is a must for my headlights. I guess i will have to live with no low/high beams for a while. At least till i save up enough $ for 06 headlights. I will try to do this hopefully this weekend

haha c'mon you guys....I'm still sure I don't have the ***** to do what I did...but I just decided...eh hell w/ it...I'll go ahead and try it. Honestly it's pretty hard to mess up. Just take your time and set aside two full days. Thanks btw guys!

you might be right about it not being hard, but how the hell would i explain to my mom why my headlights are in her oven? she would flip nuts. i should've taken a picture of my dad's face when he saw my taking out the plastic in the rear for our 6" speakers behind the seats. and so it takes a full two days?

I know I could've done it in one...figure about 6 - 7 hours but you also gotta figure probably a full 24 hours for the paint and silicone to fully cure. Plus I dicked around quite a bit during the whole project. Didn't help that on day 2 I was a weeeeee bit hungover lol

hows the light output at night? still pretty good? im glad i came across this mod on this site cause i hated the chrome amber headlights that was always the main thing i didn't like about my Z

Light output is gtg on the lows...don't notice any difference IMO.
