Default Panel removal from stock subwoofer location.

I did a search, but surprisingly, I couldn't find any information on this.

How do you remove the panel behind the drivers seat where the stock Bose subwoofer would go? I'm trying to use that space to install an amp, but I wanted to ask first before I go jamming a screwdriver in thhere and break something. I have seen a lo of install pics, so I'm assuming there is a tension clip along the panel that holds it together.

When you say "Pops right off", where do you pull from? I have pulled on it, but I can feel tension towards the four corners of the panel. I didn't know if you neede to press some kind of place to pop the piece out of the panel frame.

if you're talking about the large piece that covers both the storage behind the passenger and the subwoofer slot, then there's quite a few things you need to do

not sure about the order of things, but before it will "pop" off, you need to:

loosen the arm rest console
pop the cigarette lighter so you don't pull the wiring out (mine was pretty short)
take both rear interior quarter panels off (careful, it uses christmas tree pop pins, so don't break any, and just slowly work your hand in there to evenly increase pressure on them till they "pop", also, remember to pull evenly on both sides so as not to bend the pins)

good luck

oh yeah, finally there are some hex bolts that keep the subwoofer panel on, but once you get the large panel off, you'll know what to do

If you are talking about this panel where the bose speaker grill is located:

then it just pops right off. take a flat head screwdriver and use it to pry out the panel. Starting from the top is the easiest. dont be scared to use force, it is just held in by clips, no screws.

yeah, that panel is th easiest, but its pointless, cause if you're trying to fit an amp back there...you'll need to take out the metal plate that's behind the plastic panel, in which case, examine my earlier post

Thanks for the help everyone. I was able to pop the panel out and my reluctance to go easy was addressed in an earlier post. Thanks for the post about removing the sub bracket. Once I got the panel off, I realized my weekend of doing an amp install wasn't going to be as easy as I suspected.

Again, thanks for all the help everyone.
