Default Nismo Replica Questions

i came home today and my brother told me that he cracked my front bumper!! last time i let anybody else touch my baby; i was thinking instead of just getting it replaced with OEM of going with eitehr nismo or nismo replica front bumper? a few questions i have though...
a) who makes the best replica nismo (fit and finish/durability, etc)?
b) where would i get a real nismo bumper?
c) on the SS nismo Z the bumper is painted but the bottom lip is CF; can i do that with a replica bumper if its all fiberglass? or is that only for genuine bumpers
LASTLY
d) would it look weird with only the nismo bumper (no skirts or wing)?

any input will help a lot! thanks

is it carbon fiber your seeing, or just painted black? could also be a nissan CF finisher(not real cf, but imitation)

I think itd look ok without the sides, as it isnt a very agressive kit, and the sides are extremely tame, the back is barely noticable IMO.

You beat me to it, Jason. lol

But seriously, I've heard far too many fitting problems with the replica front fascia, so I'd pony up the cash for the real thing.

Watch out for the nismo replica, it is very hard to maintain. Mines fit pretty well but because of the cheap material it is getting chips all over the bumper, it will cost more money to manage it. Luckily my shop did me a favor and repainted the bumper for 50 bucks.
Too bad they dont have clear covers for a nismo bumper.

Gravel and cement chunks spread out across the road.....in mid turn at about 40mph.....rear end snapped out and four corner drifted into the pole.....

police inspected the debris in the road and my tracks...said "sorry about the accident and your car" and that was it.

car was declared a total due to the back order/availability on parts and I picked up a Lemans Sunset 2 months later.

here is a shot that shows only a portion of the crap in the road (over to the left) the pics I took the next day and at a wider angle show the accident better variables better....but they are on another camera that isn't developed yet.

I higly recomend that everyone keep a disposable camera in the car for this very reason......and then hope you never need it.

damn....you snapped a telephone pole in half! was it made of balsa wood.....i figured those things were a lot stronger. i mean....when i was a kid...we couldn't take them down with a 1/4 stick of dynomite! haha. but, those roads...they look like all the roads in boston! there's no dirt there! but, texas...they actually clean the roads...well, in dallas they do. i was just there....much better driving for the z than in beantown!

all in all....glad you aren't hurt by that accident!

Default colecatz-pic request

hey colecatz, good to see you're alright; i was wondering if you had a side picture of your Z pre-accident with just the nismo bumper? i wont be able to buy the side skirts and rear pieces for a while so i would have just the bumper for a few months; im wondering how much lower it would look inthe front compared to the rest of the car? thanks

This is the closest I had of a side pic.......I measured though and it's only a difference of 1/8-1/4"

the overhang is greater, but actual highth is difference is minimal.

I think you'll be pleased with it, in the meantime. I loved it.
