Default Mounting a lip/cover

How would I go about mounting THIS piece? And if I use 3M tape is it permanent, will it peel the paint rite off, if I ever remove it?

I think with those lips they already come with 3M tape already. Just start on one corner and peel the 3M off and keep pulling and pressing it into the bumper at the sametime as you work your way to the other side. When you want to remove it I would just heat up the area where the 3M is with a blow dryer for awhile and you should be able to take it off without chipping your paint pretty easily.

I believe it comes with some 3m tape like he said, but I ended up having to put a hell of alot more for it to hold up on mine.

You can add a few strips if you think its necessary. I had some 3m on my Z and that stuff was very durable and held well. It was not easy taking it off.

Just make sure you heat the tape up well when you take it off or yes it will mess up the paint. I pullen my front aftermarket emblem that I stuck on with 3m and it removed paint.

It should NOT damage your paint if your paint isnt damaged already, if you have chips, etc. then yes there is a good chance the adhesive in time wil pull up more clear coat etc. when you pull it off. More then likely not though. as others stated it will be a ***** to pull it off and make sure you use the 3M tape meant for trim and not the foam type tape. Also ensure the area is extemely clean and clear of any wax, so prep the area well! take your time and dont get in a rush.

I heard I should also put some alcohol on the prep area[final step]....is that safe on the paint?

yeah, rubbing alcohol removes debris that'll make the tape loose.. so before you put it on... rub the alcohol and wipe it dry with a clean cloth and put it on...

i'd actually just claybar the area.. i wouldn't think of going far as to waxing... just claybar should do the trick.
