CF Nismo V3 Front Bumper

There was a thread on here just a few days ago with carbon kevlar Nismo edition Z parts, however now I can't find it. I was afraid to even ask how much it was. Also sounded as if the parts had more of a "race car" fit, rather than perfectly fitting OEM pieces (even though they are OEM, so to speak). I don't think it was the "blingy" CF/Kevlar you are probably thinking of either, but I can't say that 100% as they didn't have unpainted pictures.
I don't believe we will see Nismo Edition Z parts replicated by the aftermarket...mostly just because the starting price wasn't as obnoxious as say, the Nismo V2 was. The front goes for like...$480+shipping. It would be hard for replicators to undercut that and still make a quality piece.
You always have the option of buying the authentic and finding a shop or person well versed in carbon fiber wrapping and have them wrap the lip in CF.

God I wish, I think Asuka/Mastergrade or anyone that makes CF should do a lip kit for the V3. Dont be like everyone else and get the V2. Stick to the V3 its much better in my opinion.

u seem sufficiently knowledgeable in this topic, so ill ask you
how much do you think it would cost a body shop to wrap the cf around the lip? i know asking several shops would be the smartest option, but im just looking for a figure i should be aiming at now
I'm just knowledgeable because I've read the information available on this forum, and else where on the 'net.
As far as CF wrapping, it really comes down to actually finding a shop or person that is proficient in CF wrapping. This isn't something than any 'ol bodyshop can, or will do. Tonester on this site used to do CF work, but he is RETIRED so definitely don't bother him. I'm sure there are others that do this work, but as I don't personally know of them the only shop I know of from WAY back that does this is Team Prototype/CF Type. More information can be found here on their CF wrapping, and they can be contacted here: http://in.teamprototype.com/?nav=page&pgId=25. I don't even know if they still do work, it doesn't look like the site has been updated since 2007, they used to be pretty good about keeping it updated.
I'm sure you could also Google "CF wrapping" or "Carbon Fiber wrapping" and get some hits and go from there as well.

Wonder how hard it would do myself, I have been looking into molding the lip with a molding clay. Then buying 2 yards of CF for around 70$ and the epoxys/resin for around 50$. I am only worried that it will not seal right and bubble if not vacum sealed. Wonder if jim at showstoppers could do this.
I don't think making a mold would be the way to go about it.

The main reason why you saw so many replicas of V1 and V2 were two fold. V1 was made of fiberglass. It wasn't outrageously priced, but guys were tired of breaking their authentics and designed a PU front. This is known as the Aerosync front bumper. The v2 was pretty outrageously priced (MSRP'd for over 1,000 IIRC) AND was made out of fiberglass. This made a large market for the replica business because not only was it expensive, but it was easy to break. Replica fabricators such as Shine Auto were able to make a replica V2 that fit extremely well, was durable because it was a fiberglass/plastic hybrid material, and was much cheaper to boot. Thus came about the CF lipped V2 by Shine. They already had the molds and there was minimal changes necessary for a CF lip.
Fast forward to today with the Nismo Edition Z front bumper, and you have a bumper that is reasonably priced ($480 or so), and it was made of OEM plastic and has OEM fit. A replica fabricator looks at that and sees no market, because they would HAVE to undercut the price and they couldn't build something out of a competing material and sell it much, if any, cheaper than the authentic bumper. I don't know about you, but if I have Joe Schmo wanting to sell me a fiberglass replica "V3" for $350, and I've got the option of buying authentic for not much more out of a material that is much more forgiving, I'd know the OEM would fit better and require less costs from the bodyshop, and my decision would already be made. Joe Schmo gets no business after all the costs and man hours put into making this bumper, though obviously none of that was "R&D".

Putting another lip on something that already has a lip doesn't make sense to me, so I don't get that one. I can however understand wanting a CF lip, I however wouldn't want one because CF, as currently made for most of the products that hit our market, is brittle. When you get into the more expensive carbon products that are true dry CF, it is much stronger. Because there is no market for a replica "V3", it's unlikely that any replicators are going to spring for an aftermarket bumper to be made, so you probably won't ever see a replica Nismo Edition Z front bumper with or without a CF lip unless you custom make it as I described before.
