Oh and I was thinking about the gloss black reflectors and I think its cool your testing differant things to make it work and if you have trouble with black maybe it would work better with white. Either way keep us posted.

Ok so here are the pix of the painted pieces in which the one piece that you now see is back to chrome is the one that was painted black as well that i did not like the turn out of. So i used my MAGIC and made it go back to chrome with my special tricks. So as you see it does work.

Not bad. I like what you did with a few exceptions.

Let me make a few notes, though.

- No matter what you (Venture and Duke) claim, the output has decreased. It may not seem like it to you in a garage against a wall, but on the road, it will show. That is because the circled areas DO reflect light (hence the 03-05 headlights being "hybrid projectors") and of course the lens allows the light to pass through. Majority of the light passes through the projector lens, but a good percentage of it are reflected. You can tell just by looking at it (common sense) and many before you have testimonials saying so. See the circled in the attached pics.

- No matter what kind of paint you (Duke) use (shiny, glossy, flat, etc), none will reflect as much light as the OEM reflectors did). This is especially the case with black. Therefore, regardless of your paint type, the light reflecting (not output, because the bulb still emits the same amount of light) from the reflectors is very little. This is also common sense.

- When you're proven wrong, which you were but you choose not to believe it, it's best to admit it rather than snapping back at those who are critiquing (which is the whole point of sharing experiences, no?) you.

- You (Venture) claimed to have the ability, or rather a know-how, to revert back to the original OEM reflectors after paint has fully cured and you even provided pictures supporting your claim. How about you share this "trade secret" of yours?

- Also, is there a way to "tint" those bottom LEDs? They're very unsightly. If you could make them blend into the black (like tinting them or something), I think it'd be much better. So, when you turn them on, it's like BAM!

For those who know. The trade secret is called CRC Carb Cleaner Non Chlorinated. 2+2 is too strong.

The Chrome used for the OEM is powerful enough to withstand the Spraying. I dont RUB it or anything i simply Spray hard core until it comes all back to chrome then i wash it down and as you see in the Pics...good as new!

Dr venture..

Do you think it would be possible to "spray" tint the LED's and see how well they shine through?

That could work, or i can just touch paint around the bulb section black. I was going to do that, but the person whose lights they are liked it like that.

Use this. A lot of older members used to black out their tail lights using this a few years back (nobody talks about this anymore ).

http://www.trucknvans.com/VHT-Nite-Shades-p/sp999.htm

Personally, I think it's tacky leaving the LEDs so visible on a black surface. Tinting the LEDs would make it so much sexier, I'd think. I'm going to patent that (tinting LEDs), so nobody can copy my idea.

Should i pay you now for the rights of use?

But hey i was going to paint them black to match, but i guess they guy thinks there diamonds and likes the bling bling look. So he had me leave them as is.

it is kind of 50/50 with people. some like the show, and some don't. Other idea i had was just to pop the led bulb section out like i did for under the diffuser, but the plastic is to thick to do that so i've shaved out some space to fit for the next set. Used junk yard set im messing with just to test.

Personally i dont like the audi mod myself, and it's a b1tch to do. you have to be very careful when doing it as well and it kinda drives me nuts.

as far as the emitting shine of the head light i've read all the threads on it and i understand what is being said. off the car side by side action looks clean and identical to the stock emitting shine as well. One customer also installed brighter HID bulbs that worked fine as well. I guess we'll just see when these are put on w/stock hids.

There is however a very SLIGHT diff, but Duke has informed me that while driving it's not even noticeable, nor does it cross his mind.
