Default dry carbon veilside hood

Hey curious, would anyone be interested in buying an AUTHENTIC veilside ver3 hood in dry carbon? Legitimate dry carbon thats been done in an AutoClav.

Pricing would be in the $1,500-$2,000 area and would weight roughly 3-5lbs.

there aren't going to be any pics. It seems like there isn't enough interest to offer this product for the Z. The design will look just like the veilside version 3 hood.

An OE Autoclav'd dry carbon hood can be offered as well, again, it comes down to how many people would actually spend $1,500-$2,000 on a race hood.

Chances are he'd need that money upfront to dive into a project like this. What I can tell you is in this kind of market condition, you won't get your investments' worth going into a project that will only be worth doing in runs of 10+ pieces.

actually no. I work for VeilSide. It's a feeler. We already have our AutoClave. Just seeing if there was a demand to make parts for Z owners, if there was a market. The costs for the molds, material and work would be absorbed into the pricing. None of this prepay and hope you get your parts bs.

If you work for veilside, it is unlike a company of your caliber to ask if an item will sell by sampling the poll on the forum?

The step would more likely make a prototype fitted to a car and show final product, then ask if anyone is interested. After all Veilside should have the money and the means to do it, right?

nothing wrong with asking enthusiasts if they are interested in parts, after all this is where the core enthusiasts that modify their Z's post. The autoclave was developed for our line of exotic car parts but if people were interested in dry carbon we could offer. This was just a feeler.

Extreme Dimensions, VIS and other copy companies are at least 3-4 times larger than our company. Just because the name may be big, it doesn't mean we have money to burn through. But this thread isn't about the size of our company or the price of our parts, or copy vs original. So back to the thread subject.

Perfectly legitimate reason, however it is unlike the enthusiasts I know that would pay $2000 for hood that hasn't been developed. Also I know a thing or two about gauging interests on the forums, when it comes down to parts are ready, buyers aren't quick to part with that kind of money. Ultimately Im saying it doesn't tell you anything if people simply say "OK! I'd love the hood! make it!", surely you don't go by how many forum members say yes to spend the mold money for a prototype, you need to spend quite a bit of money to develop this product with or without interest from a poll, question is are you willing to do that when the market is down.
