Default 350z seat clearance

Wad up family. I need help, does anyone know of a way to get an inch or two more clearance on the seats slide rails, ill even go aftermarket. I think the tight space is messing with my knee now. I'm 6ft tall but couldnt resist getting a Z. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks

I went with Corbeau A4 seats and had the bases shaved 1" and they are still the same hight as stock. I wish I could have found a way to make them even 1" shorter. I am 6'2" and my head almost touches the roof. If I could get 1" shorter my hair wouldnt rub.

When you say the bases are shaved an 1" where does that come from the bottom of the seat or the top of the base as in the seat cushion. I sound dumb but, they don't take padding away from your buttox to make them lower eh'?
I'm 6'4" and looking into A4 wides....but i want them real low...i want (need) them lower than stock in fact.

The seats are shaved from the bottom, the padding stays the same. I still had to go to a welding shop and get the rear of the seat bracket lowered by 1 inch, but I fit in the car great now

Well that is good.
I'm 6'4" and when i sit STRAIGHT up my head touches the roof......
So would you say that your A4's sit equal to stock or lower?

If you don't mind me asking how much were the brackets plus modification on them?
Did you get the Leather,MS,or the CLoth....i can't afford much more than the cloth right now....well not even that.....MY WIFE HATES ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Before I had the bracket lowered the seats were about the same as stock, thats with the seats shaved 1" from the factory. I was thinking that my head touching the roof was unsafe in case of a wreck, if some rear ends you your head would hit the roof before it hit the headrest and maybe snap your neck

Have my ducks in a row per say!

Thanks.....

I hope you get what you're looking for (whether spacers, new rails, etc.) In the meantime, exercise your knee lightly--no weights, just moving your leg up'n'down; rub your knee down with Ben Gay or any other quality cream--don't go cheap on it, it's your health!. G'luck! BTW, my being 5'11" has helped me stay away from that kinda situation. I guess an inch CAN make a huge difference for ergonomic purposes!

Yes, The seats now sit lower then stock and my head does not touch the roof any more. The brackets were the ones from Corbeau that are made for these seats. I had the welding shop take 1" of the rear of the brackets for $40 . I forget how much the brackets were, I ordered them when I ordered my seats. Oh, I almost forgot, my seats are cloth. BTW, Dont go for ANY seats that cost less then Corbeau, you wont be happy

COOL! You like the cloth?

Thanks for the help...

Oh did you just take the leap of faith and order them or did you previously sit in them?

I'm scarred!!!!!!!!

I like the cloth and it looks good also. I couldnt find any place around me to test sit them, so I just ordered them and am very happy with them. I just got back from a 1200 mile road trip and the seats were fine. I did not get the "wide" seat, I have a 36" waist and I still have a little room. I can post a pic when I get home from work tonight if you want

please do with the photo sir...
I too have a 36" waste but who knows what the future holds...ha ha...
I like the EXTRA room!

My main concern is my shoulder/lat area's...the stock seats are too narrow at the top and my lats rest ON them not IN them.

The A4 wide are 22" at the top i need to find out what stock is.

thanks for all the info brother i need it!

Non Reclining no thanks...i can hardly get up and out of the OEM's. Those fixed seats have like baby bumbers on them.......

Think i'm fixed on the Corbeau A4 Wide...shaved 1" and some sort of custom brackets....

How does the factory seat belt work with this set up?

WHEN being the key word here....looks like the paper work on the car won't be done final until next year OR in the next two months then i have to fight with her about spending that money.
I see her point i mean i had just bought the 07 titan for 30k and then paid it off to 3 months later turn around and purchase my moms debt....i can see why she wouldn't want me spending money on it.

to answer the OP's question, the only way to accomplish this will be custom, likely by having the rails and bases redrilled to the seats, further back. You cannot increase the actual length of the track unless you install a new rail (of which none fit on a stock seat as a bolt on) or move the rail back in the first place. Before doing so, I'd measure things and make sure you even have an extra inch or 2 from the rear mounting points of the base to the car in the first place. You may find that while you can move the seat back further once the base/rails have been redrilled on the seat itself, that the seatback now would need to sit more upright in order to clear the back interior panels
