Default 350z Hood Changes

I just bought a 2005 350z roadster and was wondering when some of the exterior changes were made. I'm reffering specifically to the bulge in the hood. Have the fender flares also become bigger. I have noticed that the 2007 and 2008 z's look more agressive...Is it just the combination of hood and more aggressive mags ...the 5 spoke mags also look awesome. Thanks for any input.

'07+ has the bulge in the hood. Nothing else has been changed from '05 in terms of exterior styling (other than LED tails which was done in '06+).

Bulge in the hood is to accomodate the HR motor which sits slightly higher.

It definitely will fit and *should* give you more clearance for your spacer, but I can't say for sure as I've never heard anyone mention it. I'd assume so given the HR motor is taller and that is essentially what a spacer does on the height of a DE motor.

Give it a shot, be the tester!

I know you have a CF hood now and may not have your stock PPW hood, but check this out:

Yea I tried getting his A pillars but it fell through cus he destroyed them when removinging it "so he told me". Yet they went from sold to sale pending but idk. Think I will keep my eyes open for a used one in the forum here. I can fit my strut bar on with spacers but the hood does not close right. hope a 07 or 08 will fix this.

I remember you bought the strut bar that goes forward, so actually thinking over this again, I don't think a 07+ hood will give you the clearance you need. But since I don't have this setup at home, you would need to see where exactly the strut bar is hitting the hood, then compare that to pictures of 07+ hood to see if the hood bulge is in the place that you need it.

Hood, headlamps, front bumper (minor), and rims are the only exterior changes. There were some interior changes mostly with the door panels and center console area. Nothing major.
