You can put a baby seat on your passenger seat as long as you install and use an airbag deactivation switch. There are many threads on the topic.

Now we are getting serious and ive been the only thing her daughter has ever known close to a father. Considering he wasnt around even when he had the chance the first year she was alive.
Its really hinderd my relationship with her daughter and her because we cant go out and do things together.
A little contradictory if you guys are getting serious, yet you not having a car suitable for the three of you has hindered your relationship, but whatever. Does she not have a car? Cause I'm guessing if she does then it has a back seat. So why should you not having a car with a back seat be an issue?

I'll go as far as giving you my personal situation. When I need to do things while on my day off, I take my wife to work in the Murano so I can take my daughter to day care and stuff. My wife can drive manual but refuses to drive the Z because it's a little bit modified. I also have a 2 door civic, but it's hasn't been reliable lately so I just use the Murano when I need to take my daughter around. If carpooling is not an option for you guys, like I said, suck it up, trade the Z in for something cheaper and more practical.

I think if it really bothered you, then it shouldn't have even been something you needed this forum's advice about.

^^^that works too...

The OP feels that since it's not his kid he shouldn't have to pay with the selling of his Z to be with the mother...

And, the rest of the (clear and concise) story, please...

When the child is with the mother, what does she drive and how is the baby seat setup in that car?

Wal-Mart has "Baby on Board" window stickers on sale right now for your Z...lol

I replied cause I can kinda understand his plight, but still think it's pretty stupid to even consider altering the structure of the car just so you can jerry rig a car seat into a 2 seater.

when i found out i was going to be a father, i sold my z and went out and bought a clean 98 4 door civic. i walked away with about 6 grand in my pocket after paying off my z to save for future needs or up keep on the civic.

of course it was really hard going from a z to civic, but for a child it's worth it plus it's not like i'll never buy another car. oh yeah and i smile everytime i fill up the gas tank.

good luck
