Default Did you guys get a seperate switch for the foglights?

Or do they just connect to the headlights or driving lights. Please post pics of the switch as well. Would like to know the location of the switch!!

Default Driving lights - switching

On my last 2 vehicles I wired the driving lights to the high beams.

I REALLY like this setup. When you are cruising with the high beams on and another car appears in the on-coming lane you only gotta hit one switch. When he is gone, it's just one switch back to full power.

Fog lights might be a different matter. Depends when you want to run them. You could wire them to run when the high beams are NOT on if you want to run them all the time. Or you could run a switch.

i put an additional switch in the car. it's where the two blank spots are (on a base model)....i'm not sure what is supposed to be there...maybe vdc switch?? to the left of the steering where...sort of in the spot the gas cap opener is. i'll post a pic after i take one.

The plastic end panels, behind the standard grill horiz. slats look like they come out seperately. Would be a cool place to put some larger rectangular lamps - in behind the slats, visible but......

Would have to make sure not to melt the grill slats if the lamp wattage was high ( and the headlight wiring for that matter ).

Anyone tried this ?

I'm using the PIAA switch provided with the lights. This way if i want i can run with just the fog lights on and no other lights.
i mounted the switch next to the VCD switch easy access.

you might wonder why i would want to have the PIAAs on and no other lights on.

sometime ago i was doing some "spirited driving" on the mountains when i passed by a parked highway patrol. i turned off all my lights exept for the driving lights when we got to a 3 way stop i was able to give him the slip. i dont know if i could have done it if he saw my tail lights or if i could have turned them off on time if i didn't have these lights. besides i probably wouldn't want to drive in the mountains with the lights off.

my lights are driving lights not fog lights so the beam pattern isn't wide. if you are dirreclly behind the car it's hard to see the light beam.

these lights are about 2 times brighter than the HIDs on the car. with the 55w bulb PIAA alsom makes 85, 110, 130w i've had the 110w but they are too bright. I might try the 85w when one of the bulbs burns out.

None of these lights will get hot enough to melt the plastic. Not even if they are touching. Don't be afraid to mount them behind the grill next to the plastic. Won't hurt.
