I had my nismo kit installed on my Z today. The body shop didnt color match like I wanted them to ...I changed my mind a week before they painted it....They painted the center of my veilside lip black. but I told them I wanted to color match every thing. The shop manager said I thought you meant to paint the screws silver not black....what the ****??? They also painted the insert of the rear spoiler black.
Well I told them to repaint everything silver.
The fitment...
The rear bumper skirts fit great the driver side skirt fit great but the passenger side side skirt has a very small gap...I told him they need to close in the gap also.
The nismo wing sits great no gaps where is connects to the car at the base...
But neither wing tips rest flush on the car, on each side they are about a millimeter raised off the car.
Is that right ??? or is it supposed to lay perfectly on the car ???
Overall the nismo kit with the veilside lip looks great. I'm very happy with the look of the ground effects package. THe nismo kit is a replica kit I bought off of Colecatz.....so yes I did go the cheap way but I think the results are well worth it....Im very excited to get the car back.
I was supposed to pick up the car today but since they have to repaint the spoiler and lip....it looks like next tuesday.
One big plus about this is the body shop told me if I wanted to pay $50 bucks for the install and paint of the kit I could and he told me to pay whatever i wanted for it....hmmm how much should i give them?
Well I just might take him up on the offer...then my total out of pocket cost will be $650 for the kit installed and painted. They are doing that mostly because they took forever doing the work for the kit and the other work from the minor accident. (The Galleria Mall parking garage sucks...hee hee)
I was very supprised that my factory 18's looked good with the kit. I was strongly thinking about buying wheels but now i think maybe not. (more money saved for my procharger)
i'll post picks when its finished.
My main concernt is the nismo wing tips gap and the passenger side skirt gap.

Jason. I have the real Nismo spoiler on my car and I've seen a bunch of the replica ones. Mine came with these black foam inserts which stuck to the wings of the Nismo spoiler. They essentially make up the difference between the wings and the body. It sounds pretty cheesy, but it's not that big a deal when you look at it. They should be nearly invisible unless you closely inspect them. I wonder if the replica kits come with such a foam trim. None of the ones I saw did. I suppose the purpose would be to cushion the wings so that they don't knock against the body.
I'll try to find a pic demonstrating that.

ahh so the gap there should have some foam rubber .....
I told the body shop im coming in on monday and ill tell them to fabricate something.
the tips are oval where they should touch it looked like something belonged there.
now if I could just have them close the gap on the passenger side skirt...
then repaint .....FYI teh veilside lip looks and fits really nicely...they didnt seem to have a issue putting it on.
The car should have had these gorund effects from factory as a aero package they looks so good.
I only wish that the stock 18's were 18x9 in the back....I saw a convertible Z at the nissan dealership it was white with a blue top....(ugly)....I dont like the way the car looks like with a soft top.

yup....those gaps are supposed to be there. if it is flush with the hatch...it will wear away the paint!! but, with the foam pads...there is no rubbing. make sure you get those in there asap...you don't want to drive it and have it bouncing up and down off the hatch! but, post some pics!!!

Plastic inserts? I don't remember any of those with my kit. IA, I'll try to get a pic of my foam inserts up today, hopefuly we can compare them to Bonz's plastic.
Either way, there is supposed to be some kind of cushion there.

I've got the NISMO Rear Spoiler mounted and I also questioned the gap, but noticed the shop had installed the foam pads. Here are some shots I took. You can't really tell whether the wing tips are touching or not. They're not ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
