do you have a dvd player in your Z? and if yes, do you watch pr0n on you're dvd player? if yes, then that is most likely explanation for the "weird" stain.

Ok, here are some answers to your questions....

Where did you get the suede from?
I got it from a fabric store called Fabricana. Other shops like Fabricland, Fanny's Fabrics, Dress-sew and whatnot are also good choices. Basically, a chick's fabric store. Go with your mom, it'll be a fun trip!

What kind of suede should I look for?
This is VERY important! For completely flat areas like sub boxes etc then pretty much any synthetic suede will do. I use suede with a good backing so the glue doesn't soak through. For the headliner you will need suede that stretches! There are many positivr and negative curves to deal with and they cannot be conquered with a 'stiff' suede. It MUST have a good stretch to it.

How much does synthetic suede cost?
Anywhere from $8 to $40 a yard depending on the quality. My stretchy stuff cost around $10 US per yard.

What colors does it come in?
Lots of different colors and varying textures. The best is black or charcoal that has a good 'thick' texture to it. The thicker it is, the closer to suede it looks like

How hard was it to remove the headliner?
Difficulty level is about a 4. Easier than you think! Here are the instructions: All you have to do is remove the visors by taking off the little screw cap cover with a flathead screwdriver. take the two screws out each visor mount. The little visor clips just unscrew a half turn - then pop out! There are 4 panel clips at the very back of the headliner towards the trunk. Take those out. Take off the A-pillars which just unsnap easily. Once you have done all that the cieling just pops down. The rubber from the door edging kind of holds in the headliner so that needs to be pryed back a tiny bit. You don't need to pop out the overhead light assemply as its attached to the the headliner from behind with these gay *** little nuts (that come off by cutting them). You'll see what I mean

How do I make the visors and light console thingy black?
Duplicolor black fabric dye spray in matte or flat. Make sure you mask off the mirrors, lights and visor warnings. I cut the wires that go to the visor lights and marked then to re-attach later. If you are going to remove the mirrors, be very careful not to crack them as they are extremely fragile! Make sure that you dye the 4 clips that hold the back of the headliner on

Can you do this for me?
Officialy? No because I don't want to spam my services. Unofficially? PM is key!

Can I use black vinyl instead of suede?
Yes, but make sure its pretty flat looking as opposed to shiny. Shiny looks like vunyl, flat looks like high grade leather. I use a vinyl called 'whisper' and its about $20 a yard. Its very nice stuff!

So yeah, the trunk panels look really really good in person. They will match the theme I am going for in my trunk audio set-up.

Looks sweet, not so much for the trunk lid though. Where did you get the suede material?

As long as you get stretchy suede then that hump ain't no thang.

Nice writeup on the answers. You should edit your first post into a writeup style DIY. Thanks for the info. Any glue should work?

Thats the one thing I forgot! You need to use a high grade sprayable contact cement like Helmeprene. 3M makes a rattle can contact cement but I really have no faith in how strong it will be a few months down the road.

if anyones curious, I contacted a couple of local upholstry shops and both quotes were around 250$ assuming I pulled the headliner out and dropped it off there. there's also some folks in the NW section who offer this at a similar cost.

I think I'd rather DIY. a few questions if you'd be so kind : )

when you wrap the suede around the edges, how far on the top side do you wrap and cement it down? just the edges, do you bring it in 6 inches?

if we lack a sprayer, do you have a suggestion for what kind of glue to utilize? I imagine the best results come from every square inch being glued down?

do you have a rough estimate of how much suede was required? did you cut any certain dimensions prior to wrapping it? for the square where the doorlights poke through, did you originally just wrap the entire thing (thus covering that square) then cut a square out of the square and wrap the edges above it to keep it open, or how did you do that part?

appreciate your help : ]
