Default Who has the ball style Nismo shifter???

I ordered a ball **** (Generic brand) off ebay and i really like it, but it doesn't screw down far ehough, so there is a gap between the bottom of the shifter and the top of the boot. So i'm looking at the ball style Nismo one like in the link. For those that have this one, how do you like it??

you need to dremel out the underside of the **** a little so it fits over the tapered shifter rod.

I like it, but it's too light sometimes. the Nismo GT is way better, you just need to rig up a shifter boot cover as it doesn't come with one. (I have both)

Ahh, ok. Yeah i like the weight of the one i got off ebay.

Good idea with the dremeling. I may do that to the one i have and see if i can fill the gap.

I have that Nismo shift ****...the main reason I bought it was because...well..its hot as hell here in AZ and even with the factory **** that has the shift pattern on it gets hot enough to burn your palm 3/4's of the year. This one never gets hot, but it's too small for my liking and doesn't have enough weight.

For the cost...I'd recommend it I suppose.

Yeah I really want something larger and heftier like the Tommy Kaira ****, but not being able to shift, or having to carry around a spare t-shirt or wear "driving" gloves is ridiculous. There really aren't many options out there for people in hot climates like AZ, NV, etc that both look good and have a good shift feel and proper weight.

I should mention that I have semi-large hands. Large enough to easily palm a basketball. This Nismo shift **** is ridiculously tiny to me. In fact I didn't even put it on for maybe 10 months or so after I got it because it was so tiny I thought it would look stupid. It doesn't look as bad as I thought, and now I generally just shift with a finger or two. Sometimes I even grab it like a straw to shift, I feel like a giant with this ****.

I have it. It's small, slippery, and light...but the NISMO logo is cool.

Looks like i'm keeping my ebay gunmetal ****!!! I ground the underside down with a dremel so it would sit lower, and it looks perfect now!!! Great deal for $12.95!!! lol

werd. another thing to watch out for with those cheapo ***** is that the threaded insert can itself, come unscrewed and then the shiftknob will fly off. cheap threadlocker. you will just have to reapply some loctite and use a tiny screwdriver and it should be fine.

in case that ever happens, of course.
