all in all it was a cool mod, I get complements on who did it all the time..
if you have time and the patience to keep the parts out the car for a day or so so that it can dry without fighting the sun...it will last longer!
I'm looking into the Di-noc stuff now

Di-Noc wrapping questions
Hey, Im thinking about wrapping my center console area with the "carbon fiber" Di-noc and was wondering for those who have done it, if there was any parts that were trouble doing? I was wondering how you would wrap it by the button on the cubby because it seems like it would make the button stick
If anyone has any tips for me when i do it thatd be great,
Thanks

I also sanded mine smooth prior to wrapping it. I was originally going to paint it body color, but ended up wrapping in the di-noc instead. I'm not sure how well the di-noc will stick to the factory textured parts.
As for wrapping it, take your time, use a hair dryer or heat gun to help make the material softer and help it contour to your parts and stretch easier. Make sure your surface is very clean prior to starting (I did my laptop but didn't clean it to well and the edges are starting to peal).

ok thanks alot! did you have to cut releif slits when wrapping it around the corners to make sure it didnt wrinkle up? or did it just stretch nicely around the sides? and i dont need to buy any adhesive do I, it comes backed with adhesive?

It does have the adhesive already on the back so no need for additional adhesives.
Probably not a good idea. I talked to the 3M supplier I bought my material from and they said that the material is intended to be installed dry and not to use any application fluids or additional adhesives.

Your first time to try will be a pita. Seriously. But as you get good at it, it becomes easier. I would try wrapping another part first, because the center console can be tricky. I just wiped the surface with some alcohol.
The other pita thing is just getting some of the stuff apart so you can wrap underneath so when you reassemble, it won't peel off- ie: the cubby door.
I posted these awhile ago... you can see the various progression of wrapping... from the center console only, to the door panels.
Yes... I actually cut out the monitor controls and molded it in the cubby finsiher... which I can't believe nobody notices...

2ft x 4ft. It's more than enough to do the center console, shift boot area, both inner door handles, and inner passenger pull handle. You'll have extra to do some other small areas if you want to go overboard.

I just wrapped a few parts in my f150 with a vinyl carbon fiber product from some shady ebay guy that another f150 forum member had good luck with (not Di-noc). I have been having issues already with it lifting in places even though it hasn't been above 60 degrees here in Maine for the whole week. Thinking about trying this stuff in it's place before approaching the Z.
