Default 3M DI-NOC bra

This is my new to me 2005 350z. I had some 3M di-noc laying around the house and the front of my hood was in pretty rough shape thanks to Saskatchewan graveling the road in the winter and the previous owners lack of distance keeping. I was also playing around with making eye brows to match the center sections. I ordered some real carbon fiber ones because the tape just doesn't have the depth.
Car came with winter tires and I got a new set of rims that i will mount when my spacers come in. Mirrors and lip and door handles are plastic dipped.

Ive got some stuff wrapped in this. Good stuff. You need a heat gun to lay it on, and the primer if you are laying it out on a curvy part like a mirror or a lip. It's expensive though. For the price diff on a lip just get a real CF one.

Agreed. Me and a buddy wrapped his lip with scotchprint. The primer is a must as well as a heat-gun or hair dryer. The problem with a lip is the fact that you'll need a piece long enough. The widths they sell aren't nearly wide enough for a lip unless you're ok with having seems...

^^I've seen tutorials on how to layer two pieces and then cut so the seam is pretty much invisible. I'm sure it takes quite a bit of experience to do it as flawlessly as the vid I saw though.

I've seen those too. While its easy to get the seem to be invisible at first, the shrinkage that happens after having the wrap on for a while opens the seem up. I've been able to overlap the edges with a little more success, but you'll be able to spot the crease.

I'd just get a large cut off of a roll and use what you need and make it seemless. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone that needs or wants some or use it yourself. (I'm talking like a 4x8 sheet or something)

Absolutely! I had found a vendor (a sign-maker that specialized in commercial vehicle wraps) that was selling the stuff by the foot (I was able to buy a 1' x 8' roll for $65). But the guy stopped stocking the scotchprint carbon...

I'm sure there's someone else out there doing the same, but y'all will have to put in the work to find them as I have no plans to do any more vinyl wrapping...

I know its not a lip, but i did this a while back when I was bored and wanted to see what it would look like. Its not that hard. I even used a hair dryer haha.

Default Just bought some 3M Di-noc

Thinking about installing some of it this weekend on my interior and I've also thought about doing the door handles. I've read various threads saying to be patient and just use the hairdryer. I've also read that it's recommended to use the primer 94 but no one has said it is an absolute must. My question is this: Should I order it (because I live in KS and buying it at the store is near impossible) or do I not need it? I don't have a garage and it's basically parked outside in the sun for at least 6 hours a day with the rest of the time being in the shade or dark. Also, I bought 24"x48" is that enough to do the inner door trim pieces, center console and door handles? Thanks.

That should be enough to do all those pieces.

You NEED primer 94!

What if I just use sandpaper and sand it down really well and spray some 3M adhesive? Would that be good enough or do I need to stinking order that stuff because I don't want to have to wait another week to try to install that stuff.

You're going to want the primer. I've worked with 3m spray adhesive and it is a totally different animal. You don't really need much. I think I've seen a pen-like applicator that would be enough for what you are doing.
