Rain guard or deflector for 350Z
Does anyone here have install a rain deflector on their windows?
I'm NOT trying to go for the family minivan look by installing the rain deflectors, but simply it bothers me that anytime I use the windshield washer or whenever rains, the water comes in through driver side window and wets all the interior panel and the power window switches.
I don't think I have ever seen a rain deflector on a 350Z (especially the NISMO).
But the life sure would be easier with it.
I was wondering if there was any COOL looking, say maybe carbonfiber rain visor or something out there. I did find one on ebay (a carbonfiber rain visor) but they want $499.00 for the pair. That's way too much money for a pair of visor then what I want to pay. Maybe they know that they are the only game in town so they jacked up the price.
Anyway, if you guy have any ideas where I can get some good looking rain visor please let me know, I really appreciate it.
Here in Hawaii, it's mostly beautiful sunny weather but it also rains a lot too.
It's a blessing and a curse. LOL

There seem to be 2 problems with window rain that I see.
1 - While not moving - rain drops enter through the open/cracked open window.
2 - While moving - water from the windshield and/or roof flow to a place that enters the side window.
Sitting still - Not much can be done, besides rolling up the window. As mentioned, the vent things would have to be attached to the roof and look bad.
Moving - the water seems to flow towards the side window. IMO, this is due to crappy design. I can see there are ridges that look like they're supposed to guide the water over the roof and off the back. At many speeds, they don't work.
Maybe there's a way to increase the height of the ridge, or put some sort of low profile diverter coming from the windshield top edge, trailing a few/several inches along the roof. I can imagine a design for this that would look decent and serve the purpose.
I realize this is an old thread. Just bought my Z and I live in FL. We get plenty of rain and there are plenty of times I'd like the window to be cracked open...raining or not. Especially after eating some foods...
So...does anyone know of materials that can be used to make a new, or enhance, the ridge line?

Why not just turn on the A/C and keep the windows up rather than venting the window?
^ i have that problem.. hehe
on my WRX, I had the JDM rain visors, which are VERY slim, and nobody really notices them on the car. worked like a charm.
The 350z spills rain all over my arm/leg... not as cool.
