Borla and aerodynamics (homemade diffusor?)
The one part of the Borla exhasut that bothers me is the large vacancy left between the much smaller mufler and the bumper. It looks like a great place for airflow to get trapped causing more drag and rear lift. Anyone have any aerodynamic expertise who could draw up some sort of custom metal difusor that someone like "wad" could cut.

I've thought about the same thing. You know, the problem is much more severe on an exhaust like the Injen, that has no muffler before the bumper. I have seen such a diffuser on at least one home market Japanse exhaust. Don't remember where, and the availability here though.

You know, I don't have an aftermarket exhaust, but I have given this some thought. If you have had this car on a lift, you can see how everything fits so perfectly together aerodynamically. I put the diffusers on my car, and these little bitty things are suposed to make a difference aerodynamically.
Now, thinking about the BIG a$$ hole in the back from some aftermarket exhaust..............and this is not supposed to make a difference?? I am thinking.....yes, it should make a difference, lol.

Does anyone have any thought to this. I mentioned it to Doug (of Crawford Z) and he said hed give it some thought. I looked under the car after washing her today and it doesnt seem to give us too many options. Would it be kosher to weld a metal peice to the outside of the muffler or would that damage it?

From what dwnshift told me, it's didn't make a bit of difference on Daytona's high banks at all. If it doesn't make a difference there, it won't anywhere. Use that space to put in a diff cooler.

Might be easier to get some sort of rear diffuser that lets the air out through the rear bumper.
