350Z Fog Lights Installed

350Z Fog Lights Installed
This is as close to a factory look as I was able to achieve. Not 4 days
after I finished, I bumped a parking stop that pushed up on the bumper
cover so I have to take it off and repaint it---but aside from that, how
does it look?
I used HID's for the fog lights and put in HID high beams while I was at it.

nothing personal it looks like real nice work, very clean. but the lines on the front bumper dont work well with fog lights, you chose the best place in my opinion but there isnt really anywhere being mounted it would look good.

I appreciate the feedback....
I'll take some dusk/night time pictures in a few hours, then post them.
They are bright enough I can skip the headlights...and with the LED marker
lights, they compliment each other nicely.
I wanted something that was as close to an OEM look as I could get.
I spent months researching OEM fog lights from Acura through Ford looking
to see if a set of lights from any other car would compliment the Z or look good
but nothing that looked like a nice match would fit where I thought an OEM light
would be (which is ANYWHERE but in the black grill area!).
I then just started looking after-market but those are limited in style, shape
and quality so it narrowed my field of choices considerably. I went with round
because it breaks up the straight lines in the front of the Z, a rectangle or square
light did not look right at all, to me anyway so that left round, oval or going
back to an OEM light. As much as I loath toyota, the camry/es300 fog light would
have looked perfect but there isn't enough room behind the bumper cover to mount
them....
Since I had to settle, I at least wanted them to look like it was a factory option
rather than me with 30 minutes of time and $16 spent at Pep Boys.

Thanks to those that posted and voted...some like it, some do not.
I like it as does my wife, just as I have seen some things done to other
cars that I didn't care for, the owner seemed to like it.
My main objective was to see if people thought it was clean, professional
or OEM looking. Preference? Do others like it? This was a secondary objective.
Sure, I would prefer everyone liked it but that is not likely when dealing with
the public. Take the 370Z--- I like the sides & the rear but the front and interior
have got to go. I imagine the people buying it don't feel the way about it I do.
Again---thanks to everyone posting & voting....

EDIT:
On a side note, since I have to repaint the front bumper cover due to a parking
mishap, any thoughts on eliminating the big over-sized Nissan emblem or using
one of the custom "Z" emblems?

I really think they look OEM and you did a quality job. Personally I would have pushed them more inward so that they were centered between the 'grill' opening and the bend in the bumper that they are on the edge of now.

Nice work - looks OEM in quality. I've always been curious why Nissan doesn't offer fog lights for the Z. Not sure I like the location, though. I've pondered mounting some behind the grille but not sure what effect I'll get shining through it. I'd rather not cut into the bodywork. All the same, don't let the naysayers get you down for being unique. It's your car, do what you like. And don't discount the fact that your wife likes them because typically, if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

That was how I wanted it but the aluminum support for the bumper extends
on both sides far enough to cause interference issues. I would have had to cut that support which I was not comfortable doing, plus I would have had to eliminate the side air flow walls cutting down on the air going across the radiator.
This Z is 4 years 3 months old with 14,108 miles and has the Nissan 7 year 100k extended warranty, I didn't want to risk that coverage or give State Farm an excuse not to pay a claim down the road.
I would have preferred an OEM quality cover with a near OEM look that
had fog lights designed into it. If there was a bit more room, they could have been placed further out---say in front of the wheels. Not sure how that
would have looked tho
