Which ass is fatter ? My z or supra ? You be the judge !!
Interesting. I did not think the stock trans could handle that level of stress.
In a year or two, I have it planned to buy a used 350/370 Z with a 6 speed.
Redo the engine, trans possible and convert it to a TT. Two things I am
researching is the trans and rear end, I am looking for the car to be 180MPH or perhaps a 200MPH. The car would then be shipped to Europe for a 2 month
long vacation trip across the EU. We had hoped to do this with the 300ZX TT we had but reliability of a 16 year old car at those speeds was too great of a risk factor so we abandoned the prospect and liquidated that vehicle.

are some of these guys actually questioning the specs and capabilities of a Turbo Supra ?????
they must be new to the import/car scene ......
where the heck have yall been not to know that when the fastest modified vehicles in the world are talked about, a single Turbo Supra is ALWAYS up there with the likes of TT Ford GT's, TT Vipers, etc..... I'm not even gonna bother explaining why, google is your friend friends....
check out some tests that have been done in some of the major magazines among extremely modified cars pushin over 220mph, chances are you'll find yourself a Supra among those.
OP, awesome cars man... I prefer a clean almost sleeper look on my cars, but I can't deny teh sexiness of both of your machines.... although putting that much power down I'd have thought you'd go widebody with 12 inch wheels maybe even 13 in the rear with your Supra cuz of all the traction issues those cars always have..
228mph Supra for those who don't know whasssup

As with most things, enough money can make a Cadillac hit 250MPH.
The question I have is how much did he spend to achieve that speed record?
Not nearly as much as the Veyron or the SSC Ultimate Aero but you get my point.
Also, how much of that supra is actually still from the supra? I can't claim a 250MPH
Z if the only thing Z left to the car is the emblem. Just my opinion.
How about the Jaguar XJ220? This is an impressive feat of engineering.
217 mph+, 0-60 in 4.0 secs. TTurbo V6 with 542 hp $340k circa 1992

The motor in the fast cars is simply a stroked 2JZ, tranny is stock, rear end I'm sure is stock. It has some money in the suspension/aero/fuel/motor/turbo, but it's not like they took a Supra shell and replaced all the parts, dumped a V8 in it, etc.
Supras are amazing platforms for straight line speed. 1000+whp on stock internals, they are ALWAYS in the mix for the fastest 6 speed cars, and are next to impossible to beat on the big end.

There is a reason the Texas supra meet is the FASTEST meet in the country.
Edit.. the FAST Supras (SW's in the video) don't simply go for top speed, it's about the standing mile. Lets see how long it takes your 92 Jag to hit its top speed lol. That car went from 0-242mph, in a mile lol.

Dude... I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, but you really don't know what you're talking about.

Now correct me if I am wrong...but speed is a mathematical result of
certain physical constants, the RPM, transmission final drive gear ratios and rear differential gear ratios. There is a limit of speed based on the RPM
in the final gear, this RPM limit is the direct result of the final drive ratio and rear diff, true or false? If this is true, as I suspect, then with a stock trans and rear, the suggestion is that toyota designed the car to be 242MPH car.
I have a hard time believing this is true so either my understanding of what limits a cars top speed is flawed or toyota did design the supra as a 242MPH car or the supra in the video does not have stock drive line components.
EDIT:
I should have added that the engine RPM limit is a key metric in what the top speed will be.

Wow...I've been enjoying reading all the comments on the thread so far , and again thanks for the compliments on my 2 babes (lol)...My Supra will always amaze me. !! It's so overbuilt, just amazing...Still a very sexy looking car from all angles, if you notice in the pics, the supras roofline is like a good 3 inches lower than the Z, even though I have Tiens that really does not drop the Z much...Yes, I have hit 200 mph with the Supra on many occasions on Floridas I95 and Turnpike...The top secret diffuser is a very functional piece, as it creates a very nice Venturi tunnel effect at high speeds and the car becomes very stable over 150 mph !! That's why I had to do the Nismo V3 rear on my Z because I know the aerodynamics have been proven many times, especially on JGTC cars in Japan..!! KEEP THOSE COMMENTS COMING, I AM ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE OF IT !!

Very nice cars, supra was always my dream car, but paying 25-30k for a 94-96 I dont think my bank was going to finance me that kind of loan for a 15yr old car, so that is why I bought a Z.
