Which ass is fatter ? My z or supra ? You be the judge !!
ahhhh that is a nice supra....
yea that stock 2jz and r134 trans can hold lots of power......makes me want to do that swap on a Z =/ but damn..that trans cost alot more than the engine lol

No fight here...just some conversation...
Now correct me if I am wrong...but speed is a mathematical result of
certain physical constants, the RPM, transmission final drive gear ratios and rear differential gear ratios. There is a limit of speed based on the RPM
in the final gear, this RPM limit is the direct result of the final drive ratio and rear diff, true or false? If this is true, as I suspect, then with a stock trans and rear, the suggestion is that toyota designed the car to be 242MPH car.
I have a hard time believing this is true so either my understanding of what limits a cars top speed is flawed or toyota did design the supra as a 242MPH car or the supra in the video does not have stock drive line components.
EDIT:
I should have added that the engine RPM limit is a key metric in what the top speed will be.

I hate u for having the perfect garage lol... for me the only thing missing is a 993 Turbo or a Viper GTS. I'll always love the Supra more than anything though lol I have to get one one day when I'm rich
Supra looks bad as ever, still breaks necks, need to bring it out and terrorize some locals.
R134 is refrigerant.
R154 is from the turbo MA70 and JZA70 Supra, maybe you meant his V160.

Interesting. I did not think the stock trans could handle that level of stress.
In a year or two, I have it planned to buy a used 350/370 Z with a 6 speed.
Redo the engine, trans possible and convert it to a TT. Two things I am
researching is the trans and rear end, I am looking for the car to be 180MPH or perhaps a 200MPH. The car would then be shipped to Europe for a 2 month
long vacation trip across the EU. We had hoped to do this with the 300ZX TT we had but reliability of a 16 year old car at those speeds was too great of a risk factor so we abandoned the prospect and liquidated that vehicle.

I wrote my comment in such a way as to leave the invitation open for anyone to enlighten me where my understanding is flawed, until someone can
do that and not just berate then there is nothing to discuss. I did a 12 second
Google search using a simple search parameter and found this link:
What determines a car's max speed?.
Without going into the entire thread details or even automotive engineering
the first few posts touch base on the same areas I did, gearing, RPM as
well as some I didn't like aerodynamics and tires.
As for the post I made that you quoted, I fail to see the connection between driving a car at high speeds vs knowing how to build such a car. A lot of thought has gone into that planned trip. My wife and I both will be taking a series of controlled high speed driving lessons. There are three recommended schools in NJ alone. I have already driven across Europe once before several years ago and have driven cross country 6 times in my 20's so driving long distance and knowing how to do it responsibly is not a foreign concept.
I lack experience handling a car at high speeds but I am aware of this and doing what I can do to correct it, learn from someone else.
That having been said, aside from an attempt at berating me, how was your post constructive?

JDM ALL THE WAY BABY !!
Hughie...

Since you have such a great command of the English language, go on Google and knock yourself out. This isn't the right thread for your garbage. If you have more crap to say to me, go ahead and PM me and stop ruining this good mans thread.
and grow a pair. If you are incapable of refuting my argument then don't post. I asked valid questions with valid points.
PM Sent.

but nice sick rides
