I have a hard time believing this is true so either my understanding of what limits a cars top speed is flawed or toyota did design the supra as a 242MPH car or the supra in the video does not have stock drive line components.

EDIT:

I should have added that the engine RPM limit is a key metric in what the top speed will be.
The car is question is SW's car on supraforums. Stock 6 speed trans , 7 sec 1/4 mile , and owns the texas mile record in its class.

Widths of the wheels of the z and the supra drift? The dang supra looks wide as hell compared to the z rear tires. Must be at least 18x11.

R134 is refrigerant.
R154 is from the turbo MA70 and JZA70 Supra, maybe you meant his V160.

In a year or two, I have it planned to buy a used 350/370 Z with a 6 speed.
Redo the engine, trans possible and convert it to a TT. Two things I am
researching is the trans and rear end, I am looking for the car to be 180MPH or perhaps a 200MPH. The car would then be shipped to Europe for a 2 month
long vacation trip across the EU. We had hoped to do this with the 300ZX TT we had but reliability of a 16 year old car at those speeds was too great of a risk factor so we abandoned the prospect and liquidated that vehicle.
After reading your posts... I've concluded that you need to research a lot of things. You don't know as much as you think you do.

I am not a self proclaimed master of automotive knowledge, quite the contrary which is why I read forums, to expand my understanding in any given subject.

I wrote my comment in such a way as to leave the invitation open for anyone to enlighten me where my understanding is flawed, until someone can
do that and not just berate then there is nothing to discuss. I did a 12 second
Google search using a simple search parameter and found this link:
What determines a car's max speed?.

Without going into the entire thread details or even automotive engineering
the first few posts touch base on the same areas I did, gearing, RPM as
well as some I didn't like aerodynamics and tires.

As for the post I made that you quoted, I fail to see the connection between driving a car at high speeds vs knowing how to build such a car. A lot of thought has gone into that planned trip. My wife and I both will be taking a series of controlled high speed driving lessons. There are three recommended schools in NJ alone. I have already driven across Europe once before several years ago and have driven cross country 6 times in my 20's so driving long distance and knowing how to do it responsibly is not a foreign concept.

I lack experience handling a car at high speeds but I am aware of this and doing what I can do to correct it, learn from someone else.

That having been said, aside from an attempt at berating me, how was your post constructive?

LOL !!! Kyle thanks for the props and setting that post ST8 !! Folks, Kyle has a MA70 Supra that he converted to JDM right hand drive with the yamaha hi -revving limited production motor swapped in. He told me a funny story once the cops pulled him over in PSL locally and went to the left side expecting to see the driver and had to do a double take when they found his wife sitting in that seat as a passenger !!! JDM ALL THE WAY BABY !!

I did not need you to admit this detail as your post made it a matter of
public record.

Wipe the $hit from your face and go back to your corner.

Since you have such a great command of the English language, go on Google and knock yourself out. This isn't the right thread for your garbage. If you have more crap to say to me, go ahead and PM me and stop ruining this good mans thread.

It's time to leave the dorm....stop the frat boy antics
and grow a pair. If you are incapable of refuting my argument then don't post. I asked valid questions with valid points.
