Relocating the fuel inlat
Has anyone on this forum attempted to do this?
If so, is their a link to the procedure?
I saw this Z when we were showing at Nopi Nat.
The guy that owns it had no idea on how it was done.
He had a shop do it for him.

As Kwame mentioned, it's not a DIY for most people
Drop the tank, fab up your own piping, and you can re-route it to anywhere you want...to the roof, inplace of a headlight or tail light, behind the license plate, to your dashboard - literally whereever you wish.
But he happens to be right - it's one of those things where if you have to ask, it's not something you're going to be able to accomplish by yourself, and would be best off having a professional handle for you

I do not mean to side track or hijack this guys thread but why do so
many people have to jump right in with both guns and start ripping right
from the onset. How hard is it to communicate like an adult? rather than
the constant knee jerk frat boy smart alex remarks that fly around.

I was wanting to know, because I'm planing on installing a set of Veilside rear flairs, and was going to mold them into the quarters, and at the same time move the fuel inlet and fill in the old fuel door.

My initial post was not meant as to be a flame. If you consider dropping the tank as not being a big thing then you shouldn't have a problem rerouting the fuel door to the window.
As for where you can find the rear quarter window with the fuel door already molded into it, most of the cars I've seen them installed on also happen to be running the mastergrade widebody kit so your best bet would be to contact them.

I think you right. I went to Mastergrades web site and sure enough
most of their rides have the relocated fuel door.

If anyone wants to know the procedure on dropping the fuel tank, these are the steps out of the service manual.
Revision; 2004 April 2003 350Z
Drain fuel from fuel tank if necessary.
Perform work on level place.
1. Carry out steps 2 to 7 of “REMOVAL” in“ FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT, FUEL FILTER, AND FUEL PUMP
ASSEMBLY”on main and sub fuel level sensor units. Refer to FL-5, "REMOVAL" .
2. Remove and tunnel stay. Refer to RSU-7, "Components" .
3. Remove the exhaust front tube, center muffler. Refer to EX-3, "Removal and Installation" .
4. Remove propeller shaft. Refer to PR-7, "Removal and Installation" .
CAUTION:
Do not impact or damage propeller shaft tube.
5. Remove parking brake cables. Refer to PB-3, "PARKING BRAKE CONTROL" .
6. Remove rear suspension assembly. Refer to RSU-7, "Components" .
7. Remove fuel tank protector.
FUEL TANK
8. Disconnect fuel filler hose, vent hose and EVAP hoses at fuel
tank side.
9. Remove fuel tank mounting band bolts while supporting fuel
tank.
10. Remove the fuel tank.

It's not something you want to do in your garage on a set of floor jacks.
Can it be done? Sure. Would I want to do it that way? Hell no.
In a shop with a lift and a transmission jack? Why not.
The tough part is where do you run the fill tub, and how do you get it into the cabin.
That's where I'm hopping mastergrade can help out.

In any case, I've seen a gutted out local car with this mod done and the fill tube was simply run from the back of the side window straight down in to the rear "floor" behind the rear speakers straight into the gas tank.
I didn't get underneath the car to view the fuel tank but my logical assumption would be that it was ran back though the same hole in the fuel tank. Cutting an an additional hole in the fuel tank would not make sense (or be wise) being as their is one already in it that wont be used by the old fuel filler tube.
