Condensation frustration.
Hello all,
For the life of me i can not keep condensation out of one of my headlights. It started the other day when it rained for a couple days straight, and hasnt been the same since.
Ive opened the back of the headlight like 3 times now, and dryed it out with a hairdryer and also a air compressor But then within 20 min of the light being back together/closed up it will completly fog up and have a ton of moisture inside, and its not even raining/wet out!!! WTF
The headlights are aftermarket ones for the base model.
Any ideas/tips?
Thanks.

Damn that sucks!!!
How is the main bulb attachment in the back? Is that thing pretty tight? I would coat that with some silicon on the edges because it could be the culprit.
I wonder if RainX on the interior side of the lense will keep condensation off? The heat will probably melt it off though.

I assume you have a bad seal somewhere. If you heat it in an oven at 350, I think its for 10 minutes, you can pull the lense off, wipe out the inside, put down a fresh bead of RTV, put the lense back onon, screws back in and reheat it.
I pulled both mine apart when I replaced my amber strips. You have to take the bulbs out and the wiring harness and be careful with the sealant when pulling the lense off.

They're not sealed, its a misconception. They're designed to breath, thats what those vent tubes are for. Humidity is in the air and the only way to stop condensation is to allow your lights to breath and evaporate the humidity.
