Question Full re-paint? or paint just the affected parts?

Hello everyone, my 350 Z (black) paint is kinda messed up, some parts, like the bumpers are with some scratchs.
The question is, should i repaint all the exterior? or just the parts that really need it?
I think if i paint only the bumbers and the rear spoiler it will be diferent from the original paint.
What should i do?
Thanks

edit: the others parts could use a new paint too

What kind of scratches? How big are the scratches? Where on the bumper are the scratches?

do you know when you dry the car with some piece of cloth and there is sand on it? Thats the kind of scratchs (like thousand of mini scratchs) on the hood, the doors.
And the major scratchs on the front bumper are near the headlight, the rear one got a huge one on the center, that one is ugly because he kinda hitted the bumper on a wall and broke the paint.
The old owner was not very carefull
These mini scracths and the one from the rear bumper make the car looks old.

you could polish/wax the car, that should take out alot of the mini scratches I think.
then just get new paint on bumper where he hit a wall.

If you can just paint the whole car, you run the risk of things not matching up well if you don't. Depends how much cash you have and how much you care.

thats the problem.
i think i will just paint the bumper and the read spoiler, if it gets diferent i will repaint the whole car in a short time between them, so they dont get unmatched.
what do you guys think?

Do that if you have the cash or shop around for a good body shop that can fix stuff like that and get some good wax and fix the swirls.

Blacks are very easy to match so unless the rest of your car really NEEDS a repaint, I wouldn't recommend it.

I have the same issue but my front bumper/hood are beyond repair, i dont think a wax could get rid of it, I have a rock chip on the roof, i have damage on the driver side rear quarter panel that I buffed out as much as possible and 2 rock chips on the passenger side. the only part of my car that is untouched is the back of the car lol, its a 2003 :-( im debating just getting the whole car repainted and getting side skirts put on since I already have to pay to get the damage fixed on the driver side. I have an 03 black z

On the other hand, i could repaint the front bumper and the hood, i have no idea how to get rid of the rock chips on the roof or on the passenger side, and the driver side the quarter panel and in front of the quarter panel would have to be bondo'd, a local shop wanted 900 to fix the quarter panel area alone.....

what do you guys think

a professional bodyshop will blend into the other panels that way you will get a perfect match.

Any good paint shop can mix it to the factory color and it won't be off unless your paint somehow managed to fade, which I extremely doubt it has.

Just polish out the scratches then fix the other damage. You'll save a lot of money that way...
