I hate to break it to you bro, but we're very limited on "reasonable" paint shops in San Diego.

I had my front lip painted at some ghetto place off of Miramar (And I don't even remember the name). Just simply having the WV2 paint code is not enough, since any variation in amount of flakes can change the whole shade of the piece.

They will also be hesitant to give you a straight up quote over the phone without seeing the quality of the pieces and material. I would physically drive up to various places with your kit and ask them for a quote. Bring a splashguard or something silverstone so they have a reference. You could try a reputable place like "Sinful enhancements" but it might be costly.

As everyone has stated here, just save up... there have been countless horror stories of people trying to do paint jobs themselves and having to pay more to fix the job they did and have it done right... just put it off to the side, save the cash up, then find a reputable body shop. If you lived in LA, I'd recommend my uncle's shop, he matched my chrome silver Z beautifully. Besides, a lowered Z looks really good even without aftermarket body add ons.

I am in the same situation as you are, strapped for cash, so everybit counts... I was quoted at 900 for a full kit (and that's with a discount LOL) but the quality is top notch. I would rather pay that, then lets say 600 for half a$$ work and having to pay the 900 on top of that.. that's just a waste of time & $, IMO. Plus it's not like you're on a time delicate schedule to show the car, I'm assuming this is your DD... so just take your time.

If you're helping family out and struggling doing so; why would you pick up a kit and worry about painting/installing it? IMHO keep it stored until your money issues are out of the way then do it. People always struggle between what they WANT to do and what they NEED to do. Just my $.02 Good luck but like everyone else says wait till you can comfortably afford to do it then go through with it. The last thing you want is a horrid paint job and installation then you have to drive around with it until you can afford to fix it.

I know what you mean. I'm going to pick up another S13 soon and am ashamed at what I see on the 240 forums. Hack jobs doesn't even begin to describe the things people do to their cars. It's sad really..

There's also a guy by the name of Makito at 7 Apples / Shine Auto in Rancho Cucamonga. Very pricey but from what I heard he does an awesome job. That's why I'm waiting until May 2nd to get my stuff painted & installed by him. To be honest I was in the same situation as you bro, and I waited until more cash came in. So just hold off a bit... once things get straighten out... take it to the shop and get it done the right way

nah don't do it with rattle cans, and don't even do it for the cheapest price possible. You will end up paying more $ to fix it in the end. Best of luck, and I hope you get it all worked out...

Pay the money for a paint job. Those spray can don't provide a good color match. Anyway you'll have to primers, wet sand, use adhesive paint, paint, wet sand, gloss, then wet sand then buff. Waste of time, have a shop do it.

i would wait until you have the money to paint your kit. you will never be happy with something half-***.

but to be honest, painting a body kit shouldnt be on the list of your concerns if money is tight at the moment.
