Well considering you have had your car for 5 years I'm going to assume you don't have the new 06+ headlights meaning you dont' have xenons. I'm not sure how the HID's work but for xenons you just take off yoru front bumper, take off the 4 screws for the headlights then pull out the old bulb and pop in the new one. I assume the HID headlights are the same but the bulb is goign to much much cheaper.

Arsh, you don't have to remove the whole bumper to just get to the bulb... all you have to do is turn the wheel outward (the side you are working on), raise the car on a stand (gives you more working space and remove the plastic panel behind the headlight, unlatch the bulb and switch it. The process took me about an hour, but it wasnt bad.

There is a DIY somewhere here on the forums. Do the search, it'll have pics with it as well. Oh and stock bulbs if I remember are registered at 4300K-4500K..

Oh yea, I forgot you coudl do taht but I rather take the bumper off. That plastic cover is so hard to take off, I was almost impossible for me to do with the whoel headlight out. Whole process took me probabably a little longer than an hour.

And stock is 4300 but I wanted 6000k for straight up white light. Just preference

You don't have xexon. Only the 06+ headlights come with xenon which are better than the HID but you can't really upgrade from your setup unles you buy new 06+ headlighst which a lot fo peopel do but they are expensive.

I could imagine being your neighbor walking by and seeing this lol. Ya its a tight fit if you have sausage hands, but they just twist off.

What are you talking about? HID and Xenon are the same thing, its simply a different word used to describe the lights. Xenon is a street term for HID lighting most commonly used in marketing when HID lamps were first offered in cars. Some companies still call them Xenon lights, other High Intensity Discharge, regardless it's the same thing.

Xenon (HID) was offered in the 03 cars as well as the 06. The only difference is the 06 has a projector housing with the HID in it vs. the 03 with the wierd projector that sits in front of the reflector housing. My car is an 03 and I absolutely assure you it has HID (xenon) lights. Only base models had halogen, ever other trim level was HID.

Either way they are both HID (xenon) lights just different housings.

See the ballast and HID bulb?

My bad, I didn't know the exact terms to use but the point I was trying to get across was that the type of bulb he woudl need to buy would be different from my headlgihts because i ahve teh projector. And I believe the type of bulb he needs is much cheaper than D2S bulbs. That's what I was trying to get across, I appologize for not bieng right about the terms I used.

Ahh I understand what you were trying to say now.. Yes, you are correct. 03-05 use D2R and 06+ use D2S.
Either bulb is generally about $35 each from an aftermarket retailer now a days however.
