If you saw the voicecoil you would understand also the smell is terrible, I just blew the sub, I think the subs throw is longer than we thought and may have been hitting the lower part of the enclosure which may have help to wreck it.

 

Is there any way your sub can be salvaged?

 

I think we were just pushing the sub before we broke it in. and the MA sub I picked up for just under $200. by the way I am very impressed with the MA having never heard of them before!

 

I hear once the coil is gone its over for your subs.

 

no but It could have been just a bad sub its not like ID is making 100k of these like JL, its under warranty so I pick up a new one on Monday,

MA is Mobile Authority, flea market brand.

I sent an out of warranty IDMAX sub in to Image Dynamics to be rebuilt and they didn't charge me anything. I only had to pay shipping.

 

Thats what I thought, but if you heard this sub you wouldnt be able to justify the extra $300 for the IDMAX , but it is MA vs ID and I like ID way better. just wanted to give a less expensive Alternative to anyone that might be interested. its not offten we get to try diff Subs in our cars. I will pick up my new DMAX this week.

 

Yeah, their MA audio stuff is like Planet Audio is to boss. Decent stuff in the short run, I wouldn't expect it too last forever though (who cares for the price). Car Audio isn't really the same as it used to be, now it's just about being really loud for cheap, and MA fits that bill quite nicely.

There's really not that many companies making stuff out there, it's like the same 6 companies produce 95% of car audio products, so whatever you buy probably isn't that different internally.

 

Isn't that messed up, Hey lets think of a good name and then we can have someone make lousy speakers for us. we will be rich!!!!!!!!!!. LOL
