I know what you're saying - I'm looking to put my OEM side skirts back on and Nissan wants ~$9 apiece for the plastic grommets and clips that hold them on! I think 3M tape would do the trick, just make sure you wash and de-grease both surfaces really well before applying the tape, and make sure you use thick enough tape (the 3M tape comes in varying thicknesses, and I would go with the thicker stuff). When you take off the side skirt you might find that the original adhesive patch (should be gray in color) is there but just no longer sticky. Measure its thickness and get some 3M that is comparable.

That's the DIY guide I used when I took the sides off of my 2006 so I think you will be fine using it. As far as I know there are no changes from 2003 thru 2008 for the side skirts.
