New look with ASM/ChargeSpeed/SSR/Nismo
#65
Sorry about not having any updates on thursday or friday. Late day at work and called out of town the other day. By the time I had any free time the shop was closed up. Plan on having a few pictures today.
Last update I had was there was a slim chance that she was going to be completed for the open house today. Of course we weren't going to rush the job for the open house but I have been jonesin' for a ride in the Z for awhile, especially with the weather the way it's been.
We'll see and I'll have some visuals for everyone today.
Thanks for the interest, and stay tuned.

Here are a few shots of the open house:
Driven1's project is close to completion:
Unfortunately since his Z is still getting it's dosage of magic he has had to slum it in this.
Ok, so the status of my project is at this point:
So after I picked my jaw up from the pavement, I noticed that the side fender emblem wasn't replaced with the blacked out emblem that was purchased from Courtesy Nissan. I received confirmation that the package was delivered and it contained the emblems and license plate frames I had ordered from Courtesy. Kevin approached me and asked me what I thought. I told him how happy I was with the vehicle but questioned the emblem. Yeah I know it might be a small part but it's one of those little things that can gnaw on your mind. Kevin advised me that the package only contained the front and rear blacked out emblems. Guess who got a call before Kevin could end that sentence.
When I got on the phone with Courtesy Nissan I was told that all the emblems were in the package when they shipped it out. The customer service rep even put me on hold to discuss it with the person on record for packing the shipment. The customer service rep got back on and said, "He said that he packed all the emblems into the box". I told the rep that if the emblems were in the box that it would be on my car. He recommended I talk to the packer but said unfortunately he is very busy at the moment. I gave them my contact info and was told he would call me. I never received the call Not good...
It was a great turn out and the vehicle looks great. I'm going to take more photos and take a closer look at her and will update soon. Also looking to check in and see how Driven1's project is finishing up.
Stay tuned....

I think your project turned out very nicely, but the only thing i would've done differently were the side skirts. ASM bumper, IMO, doesn't really flow well with the Nismo sides. You have an aggressive front bumper and hood, to subtle side skirts, then to an aggressive rear bumper. But each to its own. If you are satisfied with the out come, then that's what it matters. And to the emblem situation, i think Courtesy Screwed up big time and they just didn't want to admit that they fcuked up. Otherwise, the package person would've called you back already. Either way, your car looks very nicely done. And don't forget a photo shoot for us.....

I agree. The car is imperfect with those skirts. Overall it takes away
from the other parts in play. C-west skirts can be had reasonably... and
bulletproof has a set of RSW's that bolt right up to the stockers. Either
would be an improvement. Very very close. Prob time for a legit shoot
too, your car deserves it.

congrats on the ASM front end. I am sure your body shop thanked you for the minimum prep requirement for the bumper and hood. First time I seen black and I follow the ASM blog pretty avidly. Congrats again and to each their own, if you like the flow of the body style, that is all that matters. I have been stuck at a point to not mix and match different tuner body pieces but after looking at yours, I might have to search some side and rear options

Great choice in parts, front end looks great but the side skirts just don't do it for me. This is a great example of why I don't like mixing and matching body kit pieces. All great looking pieces indiviually, but when put together, just falls a little short. That is an AWSOME front end though, and it's unfortunate that ASM doesn't have a complete kit. Do they?
On the other hand, the work looks impeccable!!! Very impressive work by the body shop. Love the wheels!!! And again, as long as you're happy. Just a little critique.
