07-08 hood on earlier model 350z?
I recently added an 08 hood to my 03 Z. Also have the 08 bumper and headlights. I just think it looks much nicer. I love the side view of the hood bump and think it looks much more aggressive than the 03-06 hood. Who gives a s.hit what someone thinks is rice, its my car and ill do what i think looks good.
Simple example how one idiots response can lead to pointless argument. Putting other parts on the same car is not rice what-teh-fack-so-ever. Do it because it looks nice and fack the haters
I love how i posted a simple thing and all the poor lil babys got hurt hahaha
**they must be true ricers

You people are funny.
I'm doing a full 06+ conversion:
06+ headlights
06+ taillights
06+ wheels(maybe regular, maybe GT)
06+ bumper
06+ door panels
07+ hood(carbon fiber OEM style painted to match)
Brembo conversion(Brembos weren't on 04 Touring ZRs)
Im not doing it to look like I have the HR(which I dont want, thats why I got the DE), Im doing it for looks, performance, weight, etc. No one is going to come up to me and say" Thats an 07 hood on a 04.... You're trying to make it look like you have an HR!" and if they did, I would laugh at their stupidity and not acknowledge them thereafter.
Im doing this because I plan on supercharging this car and I want to have a sleeper. I want to keep it stock as possible and this seems the best route to go to upgrade the look of my car and upgrade to some better performing parts.
EDIT:To the OP, choose one or the other. You are not going to see any gains from having both spacer and plenum on. Sell the plenum, keep the spacer and do more research before you jump into things. If using both had better gains than just using one, do you think more of the N/A guys would be going this route too?

I dont think its a big deal at all to put an HR hood on an older DE 350z.
Would you guys think its a big deal to put an S15 front end on a S14? Heck no I dont. That front end is awesome. People do that all the time.
As long as you dont go around claiming to have an HR motor if you dont, then its all good.

Why didn't you just buy an 06 or 07?
I suppose I could get a carbon fiber or fiberglass hood, you know, aftermarket stuff, something with vents and what not, but I really like the 06 hood. I do know that 06 Black is different than my 03 Super Black so I'll have to paint the hood either way.
I am in a similar boat. I have an 03 but really dont like the 2 horizontal lines on the hood. I want an 06 hood because I love the way the bump looks due to the space needed for the HR. The reason I say its similar is because I have a real reason for wanting the 06 hood, but I'm sure I'll get flamed by some one within 5-10 posts.

It just so happens that I have a '06 hood for sale in the marketplace. Of course it will look exactly like yours though. You want the 07+ hood. Those are the ones with the HR motor that needs the bump.
I did it because I needed a new hood and didn't want to go CF. So I went with the HR. I will be finishing up the body work soon enough and wanted the HR because:
A) I liked its more aggressive look.
B) I was a bit of a throwback to the Z's of old.

I....Have no excuse....I hate putting something in writing that will show my lack of knowledge for all time...
..Yea, I do want the 07+....
