The funny thing here is...

The OP installed a V+ Plenum with a spacer and now it hit's his stock hood. The only reason he wanted to know about the HR hood, was because of the bump and more clearance.

reading through this thread that thought popped into my head. I have the crawford plenum and it just barely touches the hood. a little clearance would be nice.

I do agree though that people who know the difference would think its an HR at first glance, but I dont see any reason why it matters.

bad drivers and mods not withstanding, HR is faster than the DE, just like the 370Z is faster than the HRZ.

i got a question

since the HR hood has a bump in it, would it be enough to fit something like the Stillen supercharger? It would be much better than the hood offered by Stillen

I dont have a Stillen, i was just wondering

I think it is funny how people keep making it sound like there is a dramatic difference in the power of the DE and HR engines. You would think there is a difference of 50 HP the way some are carrying on about it. If there was a significant difference then I would totally agree that it is a poser thing to do.

The HR just looks better because it keeps the look of the original Zs just like the triple gauges do and it offers more room under the hood for a spacer/intake.

The comparison of putting an HR hood on a DE to smacking a twin turbo sticker on a stock car is about as stupid of a comparison as you can make.

When I had my 300ZX TT I would get annoyed with people that would put the TT front bumper and rear spoiler on a NA Z. That is because I had 300 HP and they only had 222.
How can it be viewed as the OP wants to look like he has a faster car when the car you are talking about us NOMINALLY faster???

Agreed. Plus, the stereotypical NA Z32-owner does other ricer things to their car, which makes us TT guys look bad. 9/10 times the super-modified (exterior/looks) Z32s are NAs with grapefruit shooter exhausts.

Ok thanks for all the information of people that, in your defintion, look "rice". I just need clearance for my plenum and spacer. So I guess the 07 hood is the way to go. I hope none of you see me on the road and see me as "rice" since its a rice kinda car...not

no, but since you do not want to take the advice of others that know a thing or two about what works and what doesn't

even changing the hood is not going to make that combo ever work. we will be lucky to even see your car on the road if you insist on trying to make this work.

How are we all ricers? We don't have useless park bench wings or neons.

I was wondering this just because I like the hood style better and didn't want to go CF or FG. Looking at Courtesyparts.com it looks as if the mounting brackets and latch are the same. I could be wrong and misreading the diagrams. Pics below for reference:

Can someone confirm

if you wanna base it on exterior looks and preference then it is not rice, as 06+headlights/tailights dont give others the impression that you have an HR or are trying to "look" like your faster

and you see an 07+ hood and dont automatically think it has an HR right off the bat then you wont see what im talking about

Why not no diff than another member on here putting the zo6 back fenders on a c6 .

again not bashing on anyone as everyone is going to have their own opinions of rice

Z06 rear fenders offer more width to allow wider tires.
