Smoked tails?
my opinion is that it is stupid, especially when following them at night and you almost rear end them because you can not see their frickin lights. plus you might want to check with local laws first, that is unless you don;t mind getting tickets for having tinted lights

i have tinted tails and the light output is just as good as my friends untinted z, which was side by side, just as long as you dont get a super dark tint. if anything, id say go with vinyl. i heard spray is hard to remove.

good...seems like vinyl would be easier to take off anywayz....i'll probably go with the lighter tint, too, since i don't won't to offend anyone on the thread...lol

Hey TJ, I had the same types of questions before getting mine done so I'll tell you what I found out. Overlays were never an option for me because I don't like the bubbles so painting them was the way for me. As long as you use a tinting paint then the light output is not bad at all. I've already been stopped once for my tails but after showing the officer the light output he let me go. Check out a paint called Nightshade it seems to be very popular in the car scene. Here are a couple shots of mine:

And light output is fine:

now theres the answer i was looking for...i like the sleek look ATX, one more ? is there a way you can make it darker or lighter with the nightshades as in diff level of coatings... and was it just the nightshade and that's it or did you put clearcoat over the nightshade???
cool...i might try the nightshades...just wondering if you think i would need to use a separate clear coat or just use the can i buy...no worries...if it doesn't look shiny enough...i'll clearcoat the crap out of it...thanx bro...ur car's awesome by the way...
professional tint spray with cautomotive clear coat. wetsand and buff job as well. will look glossy and nice and can be cared for much better than vinyl or the dull spray of the nightshade rattle can.
I have bluebatmobile tint on my head and tail lights and it look great. I have not had one problem with it peeling or fading or anything for the 2 years i've had it on.
