I am wanting to install an 07-08 hood on my earlier model 350z to clear my plenum. Is there a fair amount of clearance under the hood compared to earlier models?

 

No need to make another 07+ hood question, isnt this your third one? Anyway, the hood has the bump in it to provide more clearance for the HR motor. So no, they did not just add the bump to the top for looks only.
