Default interior lights wont come on

OK, so i was ****ing around and tried to hook up some footwell lights, running off of the interior map lights, had something backwards and shorted them out, so i pulled the battery. Now they will come on if you push them, but wont come on with the door open or anything. Ideas?

you prolly messed more than this up, but when i bought my car none of my interior lights worked. all i did was open both doors, disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes, and connect it back up. everything worked for me after that. hope that helps.

what he did was resetting the ecu and not necessarily just opening the doors. but do try unplugging the battery for 15 minutes and see if that helps.

haha wth! ghetto fix will only get ghetto results. narrow down the possibility of the problem, so you would only need to get it fix once.

maybe there is a short somewhere that connect the dome to the door switch.

when you shorted the interior lights when trying to connect the footwell light, did the interior lights worked at all after that? or did it work after you pulled your battery.

well i dunno if this will work or not but you can give it a shot.

try to intentionally short the interior lights or connected the footwell light directly to the dome lights while the battery is still connected. if the footwell light draw more power than the dome light then you will hear a faint buzz, this mean that the ecu has shuts off the lights. your vanity lights and interior lights will not work.

so now unplug the neg. part of the battery.
pump the brakes a few times
let sit for 15-30 minutes, longer if you can afford too.
and maybe it will work this time.

hopefully this helps

check the fuse box in your driver's side footwell on the left. i believe you blew one of the fuses....just to make sure locate the correct fuse for the interior lights and replace it with the spare and see if the lights work. sometimes its hard to spot a blown fuse with the naked eye.
