Yea, but with Targa you get the best of both worlds.

Default Something like this?

Scott, If you can pull something like this off, we will all be indebted to you!

Hey guys, I emailed www.newportconvertible.com about doing a targa conversion on my 350Z... well they gave me a brief response for the price. it's $4500.... I know that sounds kinda high, but it would be so sweet. I've emailed them back about some extra details. I'll post any further info when i get it.

the ultimate z "show car" would have a T-Top and lambo doors. that would be so awesome to see that combo.

heh that is EXACTLY what a targa top is.

you familiar with the supra? targa gives up more structure tho, ttop atleast they could try and run a frame through the center section to keep the car from folding up.

Default how about an auto-targa?

like the ones u see in m-benz c-coupes and porche targa's..
well.. if that was what u guys were talking about........lol
that would be much better~~
and if that is also possible, im going for it!
i dont do races so i dont care about rolling over and sh*t.
air flow? well.. if i care much, i wouldnt be driving with windows open..
so.. when u get info from these guys, can u also ask about this auto thing too??

races arent the real issue, tho part of it.

but in a frontal crash, if the top collapses, you wont be looking so hot. just sandwich right where you sit, ouch.

Default how fast should u be driving to be a sandwich?

pretty fast in my opinion..
and how many ppl would drive that fast + uncautiously to be in volved in a frontal crash?
prbably not that many..
i dont think this should be that big of a problem to "normal usage" z owners.. like me~

actaully cars with full roofs often have their passenger compartment collapse at crashes as low as 30-45mph...

oh yeah, such a thing typicly knows the car down atleast 1 rating level, and if the collapse causes any further damage to the dummy, it results in a poor rating.
