My driver side windshield wiper broke last night and now they keep hitting each other.. only one will work. If I position it out of the passenger side of the way it seems to move fine.. You guys think that it is the motor or just something loose somewhere?

The wiper system is one motor. If one arm is working properly, the motor is OK.

a. The wiper arm is slipping on the spline

b. The motor to wiper arm linkage is broken
