Curb Weight 5700 LB + 10-15 miles per hour = http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...2/fb0226a9.jpg

Just not good, so far its like 9 grand in damage and the guy who hit me is trying to claim that someone hit him and pushed him into me. Yah F'n right! insurance companys can be retarded sometimes.

not the bumber, from the middle of the car (top of the hatch) back needs to be removed its compleatly crushed. lucky me the frame was alright the body is just rippled. atleast that is what i was told. from what i have seen of the car it looks like that is what is going to happen the whole back end looks pretty much scrapped.

What a jagoff! Even *if* another car "pushed" him into you, he's still responsible for the damage. That's why they tell you to keep a "safe" distance from cars in front of you.

Sorry it had to happen to you, but I hope it gets fixed just like new.

Man what is it with so many people rear ending us? I was rear ended by a Big Rig and I'm still waiting for my car. (Only cosmetic damage though).

BIG RIG?!?! I'm going to guess you didn't get hit that hard.
Going to replace the whole rear clip? Make sure they do a good job at the welding.. It's going to add a bit of weight to the car if they don't do it right.

I bet it's from all these people driving up so close wondering "wtf kinda car is that??" and knowing the Z owner's urge of going fast and the Z's braking capabilities any big car following is gonna kiss it's behind at a stop.

well i was told 2 more weeks, but seeing the car i don't think so. it could be somewhere's of 2.5-3 but the shop i have my car at seems to be working on my car everyday, unless they are waiting on parts, also some parts im getting after market, like the front and rear bumper (gotta get my body kit while i can) the front got a little fist sized dent from being pushed into the car in front of me. i guess comming to a compleat stop behind someone and then getting his is still following to close. no damage was reported on the car in front of me so i got lucky there.

I was rear ended a few months ago. Not as bad as these other guys, but the floor, exhaust, quarter panel, bumper were all replaced. Damages were about $9,000 Canadian, much of which was prep and paint work. mechanically, the car 9is as good as the morning before I was hit. Paint on the plastic bumper is a little off from certain angles at certain lighting conditions. Cant really avoid that...actually, most factory bumpers are not even exact. It took almost two months to fix the car. A month and a bit for parts and about 2 weeks to fix. The floor was the longest backordered item.

If the guy who hit you was pushed into you and your car looks like that, then he would not be alive...what does the back of his car look like? The Z is actually pretty strong. I had no hatch or unibody damage and the 1995 grand am that hit me was totaled.

The Z does not have a frame, it is a monocoq. Meaning that the car is made to crush all the way through the car to absorb impact. If there is monocoque damage, throw out the car because you will be tracing back folds and ripples to the front of the car. Actually, my exhaust tip was not hit hard, but where do you think it was bent? It was bent at the header.

I think i would fight for a new car. It's not even a year old and the whole back half is messed up. I hope it all works out for you, but I just think that you should be compensated in some way for the diminished value of the car, since i'm sure it will be listed on carfax and you have to disclose any accidents to a dealer when you trade it in.
