nismo v2 insurance question
does anyone happen to know if the nismo v2 front bumper is covered by insurance companies?
being that it is considered to be a OEM bumper and obtainable by the local nissan dealerships
also if anyone has any input this is through allstate in particular, but any help is appreciated thanks

Most insurance companies will require you to notify them of any aftermarket pieces, even something like the V2 which is made by OEM but is not standard on the vehicle. At least keep your reciepts and paperwork for the parts and labor done.
makes sense, but what if i dont have the receipt to the bumper? wouldnt the adjuster just call the dealership to find out how much it would cost?
when i got into an accident before and needed a new tire they just went on tire rack to find out the price of the tire and cut me a check for what tire rack was selling it for
would it be the same with the v2 bumper where they find the price from another source without the use for a receipt?

they might go by the Vin number so if your vin says that you did not have a V2 from factory it depends of insurance company some of them cover up to 5k of aftermarket parts but if you want to have coverage for more than 5k you'll pay for it big $$$
hope it helps

LOL. Sorta. I know more because my dad has been a State Farm agent for something like 40 years now. I put my V2 on after I crashed on track because I had to pay for all the repairs out of pocket. But I have talked to my parents about aftermarket coverage and you usually have to let them know you have the stuff so they can adjust the cost of your monthly rate. I don't think it goes up too much, but if you keep the reciepts and can prove what they cost, they would probably cut you a check for what you needed. Then again, some companies will only use OEM stuff (what came on the car at time of purchase), so its hard to say. I'd ask your agent.
