Default Nismo spoiler

I am considering to buy this car. It is a beauty but when I went to look at the car this was quite bothersome for me.
There were noticeable two holes, I asked the owner about this he said that the spoiler was not really designed for the car.
Everything else is perfect about the car but we are in Canada and I am worried about the rust because these 2 holes.
Can I fix this to realign it or this is not something that can be fixed?
Your input will be appreciated!

You can actually see the holes below the base of the spoiler.

From the side...

that nismo spoiler *IS* designed to fit the car correctly. I have one, you can click on my album deal to check it out. I don't have the holes, same spoiler, that one looks authentic.

it looks like he had one of two things happen:

most likely? had a different spoiler at one point, with different mounting points, and was too lazy to fill in the holes when he swapped

less likely? they did a shitty install job and drilled holes in the wrong spots.

I think this is what happened.

I would definitely keep the dealership sticker on the back, though. Great taste.

there aren't any mounting spots on an authentic in that area though - that would be one hell of a mistake. : P

If that's the case, it cannot be fixed?

Most likely there was a previous spoiler already installed in the car.

Open the hatch and carefully pop out the platic cover that is attached to the underside of the hatch itself. You should be able to see if the spoiler is attached by multiple screws or just double-sided tape and you might be able to align it over the holes.

If the spoiler is already installed using screws you will have the following options:

A) Take it to a body shop to have them weld the holes and repaint the hatch.

B) Buy another hatch from a member on the site and mount the wing correctly

C) Buy a CF hatch from a trusted vendor

I think much of it depends on how good a deal you are getting (Price).
It can definitely be fixed but factor in the bodyshop cost. Depending on the color code, they might have to paint the whole hatch because of color matching difficulty. It should'nt cost much though

Default Probably an old spoiler

I have this spoiler too. It is made for the z (Nismo spoiler). You have to drill holes to make it fit.

I suspect there was an old spoiler on the hatch which means there may be more holes under the Nismo one. I can say that the base of the Nismo spoiler is NOT water tight and you may want to take it off to see what's going on underneath (probably more holes from the old spoiler). It can be fixed, but you may want to see how many holes you have to fill in order to get a good quote.

No guys..these ARE THE FACTS...I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BACK IN THE DAYS..That red car had the stock touring ed spolier..Nissan first designed that nismo spolier, it never covered the old oem holes correctly..Then they issued a revised version on that Nismo V1 spoiler that covered all the holes properly...it basically followed the curve of the trunk lid on the new version !~!
