Why Is Pikes Peak White such a hard color to match?
I just sent my car out to a body shop of mine to get the indent that the front nissan emblem filled in and get my front bumper re-sprayed..
I went to go pick it up yesterday and I saw that the bumper was off from the body. I know that even from factory the paint looks diffrent on the body (metal) and the bumper (Polyurathane) But it was to bright of a white and lacking the pearl effect in the Pike Peaks White.
I wish I could just order it straight from the nissan factory but according to Nissan USA thats impossible.
Anyone have any similar experiences/ suggestions?

Try some searching. This is a heavily discussed topic. It's a hard color to match, but not impossible.

From what Im told getting the three stage PPW color correct is a very difficult task. I had my eyelids for the headlights painted and theres a little to much yellow in the paint. but depending on the time of time you cant tell.
As for your car...the body shop either A. Should have told you it will be a b*tch to match so you could figure out if you wanted to take it somewhere else or B. They had your car...they shoulda done it until they got it right, thats what your paying them for.

I had to get 1/3 of my car resprayed and they did a pretty good job with it, but its not perfect. Oddly enough, the time when you notice it most is when its cloudy outside during the day.
I had my V3 bumper painted to match ppw and it took them 5 days and many many trys. I gave them the gas cap and they did it till it matched cuss thats what there job is. If they dont tell you it might be off before they start then it has to match or you dont have to pay.
